How to install Minecraft Data Packs

This data pack doubles the radius of a beacon's area of effect, with respect to the level of the beacon structure.

Please note that after installing this data pack you will need to pick up and replace any beacons that you've already placed in your world for them to be noticed by the data pack and have their radius doubled.

Hey, do you know of any way I can manually increase the effect radius (using your datapack) even more? Maybe tell me what values to change? I want to increase it to maybe 200-250 blocks instead of 100.
I tried to mess around with the values before but the pack kinda went broken on me so I replaced it with the original again.
I'm playing on a 1.16.5 server (latest version) with a couple of friends of mine (I'm the owner).

Within the file data\bbradius\functions\beacon_update.mcfunction, the last line has 2 sets of 3 values. The first set (~-100 ~-100 ~-100) dictates a relative offset from the beacon position as the corner of a rectangular prism 3D area - the tildes at the start of each number tell minecraft the numbers are relative to the beacon's current position. The second set (dx=200, dy=456, dz=200) dictates the size of the rectangular prism in each dimension. This rectangular prism is the enlarged area of effect of any beacon.

so im not supposed to change the 100 100 100 but change the dx dy and dz? im confused

You'd need to change both; the -100's are the starting point, and the dx, dy, dz are like the lengths of the sides of a rectangular prism that is the area of effect of the beacon.

So I got it to work once but it quickly broke down for some reason.
I thought let's do the in my mind logical thing and just double the values which seemed to work when I did it the first time, back then I only doubled the first set of values (~-100 ~-100 ~-100) to (~-200 ~-200 ~-200)
but I did this to all the files in data\bbradius\functions\effect aswell as data\bbradius\functions\beacon_update.mcfunction, which like I said before worked for about a day or so. Now I only went inside data\bbradius\functions\beacon_update.mcfunction and doubled both the first set and second set of values which turned out as: (~-200 ~-200 ~-200) and [​dx=400, dy=912, dz=400]. This didn't work, could you perhaps tell me which files I need to edit the values from? And what to change the values to to double them again (100x100 to 200x200 blocks effect range). Sorry I try my best but I'm not that great with this kind of stuff :P

Ah, sorry, it's been a while since I worked on this data pack. Anywhere you find those two sets of three values, they dictate the area of effect. If you upscale all of them to the dimensions you want you should be okay.

Hiya, is there anythinig known that would conflict with this? I am on a modded 1.15.2 SP. I have the resource pack at the top of the list, then after it was installed, restarted and loaded back in, confirmed it was active then placed a beacon. At full power its still 50blocks. Would any beacon texture changes effect it? If not guessing its a mod but none directly involving beacons to my knowledge

Data packs don't go into the resource packs folder (check out the How to install Minecraft Data Packs link). Also; modded clients/servers are notorious for not supporting all data pack features.
