Required Resource Pack

Ever thought Minecraft combat could be spiced up with weapons that cause more chaos than damage? Have a secret pyromaniac inside you? You've come to the right place!
This data pack adds a functional Molotov (Called Bottle o' Fire) to the game. These can be crafted and thrown as a potion! To use one, throw it as you would a splash/lingering potion. Once it lands, it'll send out a random spread of fire in under a second, setting ablaze anything nearby. Works if you throw it at a wall too!
Additionally, Splash Oil Bottles can be crafted and thrown to create small oil spills, which will ignite if fire touches them, blind whatever is hit by the bottle, and slow whatever walks through. Adds to the pyromaniacal fun!
Both are complete with sound effects, which can be turned off by muting "Blocks" in sound settings.
Have fun burning down your friends' houses!

New Component System! v1.8 : by AuraAcorn 04/26/2024 10:09:10 amApr 26th
This version is a port for 1.20.5 and above, using the new item component system. It will not work in versions prior. The old one is available through the alternative download. Changes include:
-No longer using advancements and knowledge books, since crafting results can contain item data now.
-Functions work exactly the same as before.
-Potions were changed to Splash, because I felt like it.

1. Make it actually look like Molotov in GTA games.
2. Make its size bigger.
3. It should cover at least 6*6 block area with fire or else it does not look so realistic.
4. Add a toggle such that if you turn it on, oil spills will be enabled and if you turn it off, oil spills will be disabled.
5. Rename Bottle o' Fire to Molotov.
1. I want to keep things looking more like Minecraft, and don't want to make it a copy of other games.
2. If you mean the item size, I would have to turn it into a model, but it doesn't seem like a problem now.
3. Area size is something I can work with, to make the recipe more fair cost wise. Will involve some serious tweaking to get right but not a bad idea at all.
4. Good idea! I wanted for a while to make oil/fire optional without having to use more than one data pack. I may just wait to have toggles for if I expand into a new data pack with many more features.
5. Same reason as 1, want to keep it minecrafty-ish
