This Datapack adds a new type of story to the game - a story about a mysterious purple tree made out of stars and flesh.

Game Mechanics

Strange Book
  • A strange book with some of its pages missing.
  • To get it, you must sleep in a purple bed.
  • It shows you part of the instructions to follow the story.
Mysterious Chalk
  • Obtained by dropping purple dye + clay ball in water
  • When right clicked on a purple candle...
Starspawn Tree Sapling
  • Drop a wither skull onto this sapling this spawn the starspawn tree.
Starspawn Tree
  • A mysterious purple tree.
  • Contains the muncher block
  • When its logs are broken, they drop starspawn scrap.
Starspawn Reactor
  • Place an observer inside the muncher to get this block
  • It can munch various items to create starspawn themed items
  • Drop item(s) on the reactor, right-click with starspawn scrap to make it munch those items
Starspawn Horn
  • Drop a goat horn + oak log on the reactor
  • When used, makes nearby enemies weaker
Starspawn Apple
  • Drop an apple + oak log on the reactor
  • Provides the relaxation effect when eaten (5 minutes)
  • This effect negates Slowness, Nausea and Strength
  • This effect also applies jump boost, weakness and speed
Wooded Potion
  • Drop a glass bottle + blaze powder + oak log on the reactor
  • Provides the wooded effect when eaten (5 minutes)
  • This effect heals you after taking projectile damage
  • This effect also makes you take extra fire damage
Starspawn Axe
  • Drop an axe on the reactor
  • New enchantment - True Pain
  • Applies poison and strength to yourself when you attack an enemy
Starspawn Bonsai
  • Drop an oak sapling + purple dye + flower pot on the reactor
  • A block that can be placed
  • Heals players in a 30 block radius around it, depending on the type of ore you gave it.

In general i liked the pack a lot, for some reason it gave me a bit of Manic vibes (an underrated datapack that expands on phantoms, and one of my favorite datapacks). I also found some bugs though, like the fact that by placing any custom block you can destroy easily any blocks where an item frame can be placed in, like scaffolding, cauldrons and pressure plates, but that's the only thing.

Also i'd suggest making the bonsai able to drop the ore it was using when you remove it or maybe not the whole thing but nuggets or scraps, or making it drop something new like idk bonsai leaves of the ore type or something to expand in general the pack in future. Or the simplest way, give the bonsai a cooldown before removing the ore because a broken mouse could double click and make someone lose a netherite ingot.

I don't know if this pack will be expanded, just updated to newer versions or even abandoned, but i think it has potential and i really liked it :)

Also you should put the download link to celestial whispers instead of mob powers, just so you know.

Second dev here, the datapack was made for a video. We both took 2 turns making the datapack. I was the first one and manic was in fact a inspiration for me, very glad that someone noticed it. Altough i didnt have enough time/got bored too fast to actually progress. I made the first part of the datapack (the tree, chalk and the book) (i dont know if the book made it to this version). The rest was made by switchedcube. Manic played a large part in coming up with the idea of the datapack. I would like to port/expand this datapack when i have more time on my hands. Also just wanted to mention that i'm surprised someone liked this abomination of a datapack.
