Chug Jugs - Advanced Potion Storage
Overview:
The Chug Jug datapack frees up loads of inventory space by allowing you to store up to 64 potions in a single slot! Along with this comes interesting features such as dilution, slamming, and potion mixing, which allow for shorter and longer effects than vanilla normally allows.
Crafting:
Chug Jugs can be crafted with 6 wood planks of any type, 2 iron bars, and 1 glass
How to use:
Loading Potions: Select a potion in your inventory, and all Chug Jugs in your inventory will begin to flash. Right click one of these Jugs with the potion to load it in. Note: This does not work in creative due to technical limitations
Load-all: If you have a lot of potions you want to load in at once, repeat the previous process but put the chug jug in your offhand slot. This will load all potions in your inventory into the jug.
Drinking: Drinking a Chug Jug works just like any regular potion, depleting one use instead of fully emptying it.
Slamming: While drinking, look straight up to begin slamming the jug. Upon completion, this will fully drain the jug and combine the duration of all potions that were put in it.
-Ex: 3x 8:00 Fire Resistance potions = 24:00 Fire resistance
Special Mechanics:
Potion Mixing: Putting multiple types of potions in a jug will split the durations between uses. For example, having 1 Speed potion (1:30) and 1 Jump Boost potion (1:30) will give you 45 seconds of each effect, but you can drink it 2 times. Likewise, if you added a 1:30 Strength potion, you would get 30 seconds of each for 3 uses. In the end, however much potion you put in is how much you get out, but it may end up split over several sips.
-Formula: durationPerDrink = totalDurationInJug/remainingUses
Dilution: As a natural extension of the potion mixing mechanic, you can put water bottles in a Chug Jug to "water down" its effects. An 8 minute Fire Resistance potion and seven water bottles will give you 8 sips, with each one giving you 1 minute of fire resistance. Add in 8 more water bottles, and you have 16 sips that are each 30 seconds.
Suspicious Stew Mixing: Suspicious stew can be put in Chug Jugs just as potions can, losing their hunger points (unless the stew has the saturation effect) but retaining their status effects, which means you can get blindness, saturation, and more in your jug!
CLINKING
Introducing THE GREATEST MECHANIC EVER. Simply stand next to a player, and while both holding chug jugs in your main hand, left click on each other, and both your eyes and your ears will be blessed with a beautiful clink.
The clink does absolutely nothing. It does not need to explain itself, it does not need to make up some convoluted explanation as to why it exists. It simply is, and it is ok with that. Maybe you should take a lesson out of the clink's book.
