CivetKitty, If you want to make it so it will only extract to UNENCHANTED diamond items only, change your test files to include nbt=!{Item:{tag:{Enchantments:[{}]}}}

That will fix the issue of accidentally being able to overwrite an enchanted sword, and force people to use a new diamond item, then combine on the anvil.

Does this work on modded armor?

You failed to mention that ALL the enchants already on the diamond item will be removed! Or that the lapis block turns into blue concrete powder after extraction. Also in the notification it should read 'onto your diamond item,' not 'into'. I just lost a great sword because I wanted to add mending onto it, now it only has mending. Be warned folks :(
