Fireproof Netherite by AtlasPlays for Minecraft 1.20+

This datapack gives you fire resistance when wearing full Netherite armor for 15 seconds and depletes after you touch lava, get set on fire, step on a magma block, or shot at by a blaze.

I am unsure if it is a bug or a malfunctioning intended feature to prevent someone abusing fire resistance, but I have noticed when going into water that the fire resistance will begin to tick down until it reaches zero, at which point it will bump itself back up to 15-16 seconds again.



I'm unsure how to replicate this but every time it's happened to me, it has happened by stepping into water. Sometimes it won't happen, and sometimes it will.



Thanks for this datapack, though. It's nice to have netherite, in all its rarity, give some genuine buff that isn't permanent instead of just 1+ armor and reduced knockback.

I think I might have pinpointed the nature of my issue, when I go into a moving body of water (waterfall, mainly) it begins to tick down, but when I go into a static body of water, it does not. Hope that helps

Love the mod! How would one go about making the fire proof longer? I wanted to make it maybe 20-25 seconds.(To let the fire go out if u swim in lava than hop out) Thank you!

Actually better question, how do I lower the time? Lol I put netherite on and it gives me fire resistance non stop goes 16-15-16-15-16-15. Idk why lmao heres a clip. Let me know if this is supposed to happen. Thank you.

It's not a big issue, just kinda annoying/weird that it ALWAYS gives you fireproof until u get into lava. I play on a big modpack on my server and im planning on adding this. But worried this constant fireproof will cause unintentional stress on the server. Idk though. Thank you again!

It's supposed to act similar to the turtle helmet, which gives you Water Breathing until you actually jump into water. I try to make my datapacks work similar to vanilla features to keep with the feel of vanilla.

Ohhh okay I see, is there a way to make it not constantly flash 16-15-16-15? The turtle helmet just sits at 10 until you hit water. It's not a big deal at all if it's not possible. Massive ocd tho and it just is weird to me haha <3
