This datapack adds a flood survival challenge to the game. However, unlike other datapacks I've seen that do a similar thing, this one is fully configurable.
When you start a new game with this datapack, or reload your current game after installing it, you're given a written book where you can select options for how exactly you want your world to be flooded. Here are all the options you have control over:
- If you choose exponentially, you can then choose whether the cap will be at 8, 16, 32, or 64.
YOU MUST HAVE CHEATS ENABLED TO CHANGE THE OPTIONS.
The datapack also adds a scoreboard to keep track of the current sea or lava level.
If you want to build more to escape the rising flood, use default world generation. If you want to climb higher and higher to escape, use an amplified world.
This datapack is really fun on multiplayer. And you could also include a PVP, last man standing type thing to make it more interesting. But it's also fun playing singleplayer and just trying to survive as long as you can.
Here's a tip: Occasionally perform this command:
Though it is compatible, I don't recommend playing with this datapack in 1.16 versions, because for some reason it causes insane amounts of lag. 1.14 - 1.15.2 or 1.17+ is where it'll work best.
Don't use this on a world you're attached to, unless you make a backup first, cause this'll permanently wreck your world.
Have fun!
Note: In case the "cap" option causes some confusion, it's where the exponential growth will stop and remain steady from then on. Example: If the cap is 16, then the flood level will rise by 1, 2, 4, 8, then 16 blocks, where it'll stop doubling. From then on, every subsequent rise will be by 16 blocks.

- Your world can be flooded by water OR lava.
- The size of the playing field can be set to 64x64, 128x128, or 256x256.
- The flood level can rise linearly or exponentially.
- If you choose exponentially, you can then choose whether the cap will be at 8, 16, 32, or 64.
- The flood can start rising at bedrock (y=0) or at sea level (y=62).
- The flood level can rise every minute, 5 min, 10 min, 30 min, or hour.

Here's a tip: Occasionally perform this command:
/kill @e[type=minecraft:item]
This will delete all the seeds and flowers floating in the water (in fact, it'll delete all items on the ground, so be careful), which will help with the lag.Though it is compatible, I don't recommend playing with this datapack in 1.16 versions, because for some reason it causes insane amounts of lag. 1.14 - 1.15.2 or 1.17+ is where it'll work best.
