Welcome to Flying Boats!
Don't forget the Resource Pack!
This pack adds a flying version of Boats to Minecraft. It doesn't remove anything existing, and doesn't use a customized namespace - it can be added to the vast majority of worlds and/or other data packs without issue.
Normal Boats are still available and are still crafted the same way. Flying Boats are crafted using the Boat recipe plus one Elytra, like so:
Flying Boats differ from normal Boats only in that they aren't affected by gravity, and that they must be placed adjacent to a solid block (e.g. they can't be placed on Water like normal Boats).
As they're Boats and not Planes, one can't make Flying Boats ascend or descend - their y-coordinates are fixed based on where they're initially placed.
Flying Boats serve as an excellent means of quick, hassle-free transportation; their consistent y-coordinate property can be used to advantage by employing a network of embarcation zones at similar heights in your project.
