Health Bars
If the entity with a health bar has the absorption effect, the absorption hearts will show up next to the health bar. Absorption is essentially a shield on one's health so it is shown separately from their main health. Their health bar is completely yellow whenever they have absorption (without the optional resourcepack).
Damage Indicators
Damage Indicators show up when an entity's health changes. They show up red when losing health, green when gaining health, and yellow whenever absorption hearts are added/removed. If they lose both absorption and normal hearts on one hit, two damage indicators will show- with each damage shown separately.
Status Effects
If you have the resource pack installed (new version 2.1 of the resourcepack), you can now enable Status Effects in the options. It shows current status effects inflicted on nearby mobs.

Optional Resourcepack
There is an optional Resourcepack that changes how the Health Bar and Damage Indicator symbols look.
Make sure to enable the Resourcepack as well as each "Custom Texture" option in the options menu.

You can toggle features of the pack by running the command:
/function #healthindications:options
How to Install
1. Download the Datapack from this page by clicking the download button. (Optionally, download and install the Resourcepack in your resourcepacks folder)
2. Drop the Datapack .zip file in the "datapacks" folder in your world's folder. This can also be done while creating a world using the "Data Packs" button.
3. Type "/reload" in your game to enable the pack!

Older Versions
- Healthbars show above mobs when they're damaged, temporarily
- When Mobs heal or are damaged, an indication is shown that shows by how much
- Depending on the mob, Gore Particles will show. (Ex: Skeletons show bone particles, Wither Skeletons show withered bone particles, Zombies show blood particles, etc.)
- As of v1.2, boss bars now show for Elder Guardians
- As of v1.3, players also now have Healthbars and Damage Indications
- As of v1.4, boss bars now also show for Evokers, Ravagers, and Piglin Brutes (As of v1.4, bossbars only work with 1.16.2)

Notes
- Names of mobs are not replaced or changed in any way, so Mobs added by mods/datapacks should also work.
- As of v1.2, every feature is toggleable. This means if you only want Healthbars without Gore or Damage Indications, you can have that. Or if you JUST want extra Boss Bars and nothing else, that is totally possible as well.
- You can toggle features of the pack by running the command:
/function healthindications_options
Known Issues
Bukkit-based servers such as Spigot and Paper do not run the datapack well. Often you will hear the sound of armor stands breaking whenever there is a health bar around. This is an issue with the server, not the datapack. The datapack will run best on a Vanilla server, provided by Mojang. Non-vanilla servers not made by Mojang will almost always break datapacks.
