    For the intended experience, play with the Golden Days (Base + Alpha) or Classic Alternative (NEON) resource packs, Optifine/Colormatic (for custom color support), moody brightness, no smooth lighting, and fast clouds!



    Indev Islands -- Survive on Indev-inspired islands!

    This terrain generation data pack generates survival islands inspired by Minecraft Indev! Based on the Indev small, square island map type and comes in the four original themes: Normal, Woods, Paradise, and Hell. Emerge from the Indev house and survive within a 256x256 block world!

    Also includes the Indev Islands Plus data pack, with the same terrain generation and themes, but with guaranteed stronghold and fortress spawns so you can beat the game! See the new Nether, shrunk down to fit all biomes within the 256x256 world border.

    Four Map Themes!

    Survive on one of four different themes based on Minecraft Indev's offerings:
    • Normal: Sparse trees, normal flora, normal weather, day-night cycle, water sea
    • Woods: Dense trees, normal flora, always overcast, day-night cycle, water sea
    • Paradise: Sparse trees, extra flora, always clear, always noon, water sea
    • Hell: Sparse trees, normal flora, always clear, always midnight, lava sea
    Beat the game in Indev Islands Plus!

    Indev Islands Plus has the same terrain generation as the main data pack, but also includes guaranteed stronghold and fortress generation. You also get all the new ores, new mobs, the new Nether, etc!

    Note: Random seeds provided in-game do not work! To change the seed, open Indev Islands (Normal/Woods/Paradise/Hell)/data/minecraft/dimension/overworld.json and update the "generator" seed field to your desired numeric seed!

    Installation:

    1. Download the .zip file and extract the folders.
    2. (Optional) Edit the overworld.json file as described above with your seed.
    3. In Minecraft, enter the Create a New World screen and select Data Packs.
    4. Drag Indev Islands Base or Indev Islands Plus Base (contains the base assets) AND Indev Islands Normal, Woods, Paradise, or Hell (contains the overworld) into the game window. Move the two data packs into 'Selected'. The data packs should be ordered above the Default data pack (See the below example).
    5. Create the world!

        • If you have issues with foliage colors being incorrect, please be sure to use the recommended resource packs with Optifine or Colormatic on Fabric.

        NOTE: Custom worlds/dimensions are still experimental and may be unstable and prone to issues.

        I made an account just to say this, but this data pack is really cool.
        Combined with mods like Ex Nihilo: Sequentia it makes a nice way to play.

        Also, I figured out if you put the data packs in a specific order, you can generate a world very similar to old Minecraft terrain generation, pre-biomes.

        this is amazing, i always wanted to do a hardcore on the indev hell world type, i regret that alot right now as of having 3 attempts so far and not even getting wood yet, but still, its fun and i can do every other type, good job

        Your datapacks are pretty cool! Have you thought about trying to replicate the original sky dimension noise type. The floating islands/end preset is really flat unlike it was back before the end dimension was created around the official release of the end.

        It might be an interesting challenge and many people would love to relive and play on it. Especially since the aether mod used this generation also.

        Yes, I am a little busy at the moment, but I do plan to add a sky dimension-like dimension to the Modern Beta data pack.

        At this time, not too much. There are a lot more flowers, and there is no day-night cycle (the time is always noon).

        In the original Indev, you'd also be guaranteed a nice spacious beach around the entire island, but currently, I cannot control the frequency of beaches (it is a feature dependent on seed, like ores or structures).
