Required Resource Pack
41
Presenting, Iron Furnaces!
(Please read the whole thing for information about how to use it!)
This datapack is based on the Iron Furnaces mod [Found Here]
(Please note: this datapack isn't made as a replacement - I simply wanted to create a "vanilla" alternative. Values are different than the actual Iron Furnaces mod)
This pack is mainly made by me, but textures for the furnaces were kindly made by baconlover209 on reddit. (Thank you <3)
So, Let's begin!
After loading into your world, you will see a notification pop up in chat:
This notification will prompt you to download the Iron Furnaces resource pack (Found on this planetminecraft page)
But, if you have the resource pack, you will see a confirmation in chat (once you relog):
Got the resource pack installed? You can continue! :D
In your advancements, you will find a new tab that shows the crafting recipes (on hover) and tells you about the furnaces!
Here you can check how to craft one of the furnace upgrades - (You get a knowledge book as output as minecraft doesn't support NBT crafting yet *darn you Mojang*, but just take out the book and you'll get your furnace upgrade!)
So, to begin, you must shift click with the upgrade onto a normal furnace to change it to an iron furnace. You will see particles, and the furnace will change to the next tier up! (Don't worry about wasting the upgrades - it will pop back off if you apply it to the wrong tier furnace)
You do the same for each tier of furnace, all the way up to Netherite!
These furnaces use up the same amount of fuel for every smelt - they just do it faster
Values:
Normal Furnace: 1 item every 10 seconds
Iron Furnace: 1 item every 7.5 seconds
Gold Furnace: 1 item every 5 seconds
Diamond Furnace: 1 item every 2.5 seconds
Netherite Furnace: 1 item every 0.5 seconds
Notes:
- As this pack is quite complex, bugs are to be expected. Please provide as much information as possible to help me bugfix if you find anything!
- Please don't redistribute or rebrand this as your own work - it took a lot of time and effort to create!
- There is a bug that visually breaks the "fire" in the furnace GUI if you have no more fuel left in it. This is only a visual bug and doesn't affect gameplay in any way. (It is a minecraft bug with changing NBT of the furnace, no workaround as of yet)
- The way I made the pack *unofficially* allows support for 3d models for the smelting part of Furnaces. (This feature isn't officially supported - won't be updated/maintained)

bug:
Upgrade furnace ---> break upgraded furnace ----> pick up upgraded furnace ----> place upgraded furnace ----> Vanishes
Workaround:
Upgrade furnace ---> break upgraded furnace ----> pick up upgraded furnace ----> drop upgraded furnace ---> pick up upgraded furnace ----> Place upgraded furnace ---> never vanishes
everything else works find from what I've experienced. the furnaces work as you say they do. 9/10 datapack without this bug. I also have a question, will you do this for smokers and blast furnaces?
Thank you very much !
