Josh's More Foods simply adds a lot of new food items you can craft, as well as a new crafting station to make some of them.
Disclaimer
This datapack is incompatible with other packs or mods that unlock all recipes, as the crafting system relies on learning new recipes.
There have also been complaints of things breaking on realms, but since I don't have a realm I can't test and see for sure... I guess for now consider it not working on realms.
Many foods rely on the saturation effect to have custom nutrition values. Because of this, mods like Appleskin won't be accurate to the true value of these items. To account for this, there is a craftable Book of Nutrition that shows the nutrition values of the new foods.
The cookbook is your in-game guide to all recipes and information about the datapack. Craft it with Bread and a Book and Quill.
Cooking Station
- A new crafting station that lets you cook many of the new foods
Knives
- Knives are new tools/weapons that swing faster than swords but do weak damage. These will be used soon in some recipes.
Rice
- A new ingredient derived from wheat seeds that can be used in place of wheat or in other unique recipes.
Tea
- Derived from tea leaves, these herbal/floral drinks give a small regenerative effect when consumed.
A Bunch of New Food
- 3 Rice Meals
- 7 Teas
- 5 Breads
- 3 Cookies
- 5 Pies
- 3 Doughnuts
- 5 Salads
- 4 Ice Cream
- and a few other foods
Book of Nutrition
- Shows the nutrition value of all the new foods. Crafted with a Carrot and Book and Quill
Installing
Download the resource pack (joshs-more-foods-resourcepack) and place it in your resourcepacks folder, and download the data pack (joshs-more-foods-datapack) and place it in your world or server's datapacks folder.
Modrinth will label the datapack as "Primary" and the resource pack as "Required Resource Pack"
If you plan to use multiple datapacks and resourcepacks together, you can use weld to easily merge them together to place in your world.
(some packs may not be compatible with others, but Josh's More Foods follows smithed's conventions for better compatibility with other packs)
Updating to v4.0.0+
It should be fine to update directly from v3 to v4, with just the following to note:
- Old food will turn into vanilla items (that can safely be consumed)
- Rice Making Station items will turn into item frames and won't work, these are best discarded
- Rice Making Stations already placed will be broken, but drop the new Cooking Station item
- The Cookbook will have to be recrafted for the update, but for likely the final time (a feature is being worked on to just craft it into an updated version)
Issues
Doughnuts crafted before v4.1.0 could only be done once, and never again. This has been fixed as of v4.1.0, but players who did craft doughnuts in earlier versions have to drink Gilded Tea to craft them again.
Gilded Tea can be obtained through the following command (@s can also be substituted for any player name):
/loot give @s loot jmmf:gilded_teaTo obtain any item via command, run
