Tired of the same old biomes? This pack allows you to add new ones to your Worldpainter worlds. Based on the Köppen climate classification system used by real-world climatologists, this pack contains 31 new biomes for you to play around with! Create maps using real-world climate labels to make them feel just a bit more real and lively.
The .zip file in the download also contains a pretty much blank .world file which you can open in Worldpainter, which contains all of the custom biomes, so that you don't have to add them yourself if you want to start a project with them from scratch!

The .zip file in the download also contains a pretty much blank .world file which you can open in Worldpainter, which contains all of the custom biomes, so that you don't have to add them yourself if you want to start a project with them from scratch!
Each biome features:
- water colors similar to the corresponding ocean type (warm, lukewarm, normal, cold, & frozen)
- parameters for passive mob spawning
- a unique climate, if not wholly unique biome coloration
- a simple 2 or 3 letter name; typing something like "koppen:monsoon_influenced_warm_summer_humid_continental" into the 'add biome' dialog would drive anyone up the wall
This pack does NOT include support for:
- automatic generation of each biome- this is a worldpainter-exclusive (though if you're able to get these to generate in the overworld with your own code knock yourself out)
- use of the 'populate' feature: I tried, believe me. But it's fine that way anyways, just use the custom tree layers also provided on my profile to fill up your worlds with vegetation.
DIRECTIONS FOR INSTALLATION:
- Download the .zip, keep it wherever you'd like for now.
- Remove the .world file from the .zip file. Or don't, I don't think it actually harms anything but you need to take it out to use it
- Add the biomes to worldpainter if you aren't using the premade world file. Click the + button in the biomes tab, type "koppen:[biome]" and give it a good color. Apply as you would any other biome. Add other layers on top if you want.
- when the world's ready to be exported, add the .zip of the data pack to the "data pack" section at the bottom of the export dialog box.
- Open it using any version of Minecraft 1.20. I've tested it on 20.1 and 20.6, presumably it works for versions in between too.
