This is a Realms, single player and multiplayer compatible datapack that aims to give you reasons to do different things, more ways of doing them and new things to do altogether!


What's K.R.E.D about?

πŸ“ It changes and adds game mechanics. More items serve a purpose. Return home to campfires. Jump higher when sneaking. Equip off-hand support items that increase power based on your level - heal or defend yourself and friends, become invisible, run and swim faster or fall more slowly. Use both normal and Soul Lanterns in different ways - have Soul Lanterns apply glowing on nearby souls when placed. Get longer days. Fire arrows that place torches on cave walls. Get sturdy pets. Die less tediously. πŸ‡ You can find everything explained in-game in a new Advancements tab, or read about changed and new mechanics here!

  Some mechanics can be toggled on/off in-game, if you wish.

πŸ“ It adds buffs and other effects to many of the foods in the game. Now you'll have a reason to find, farm and stock up on many different food items before your journey, based on what you're setting out to do! I want you to feel that the different foods you find are useful. πŸ‡ You can find everything explained in-game in a new Advancements tab, or Read all about food buffs here!

πŸ“ It adds a lot of recipes (100+), some in convenient categories. This rebalances some scarcity for sure, but I've kept balance in mind - just a different one where you can find more things to do with what you got. Quality of life recipes, salvage old armor into a few ingots, shave off rotten meat and get bones, melt bones into gelatine (slime), make clay, make (some) spawn eggs for various animals and even villagers for when you want to create your own little village. πŸ‡ All my recipes are unlocked (ie made known) for everyone when the datapack loads/reloads.

Minecraft changed a bunch of things over the year, breaking pets and blaze rods (making them super-powered).

- Blaze rods in off-hand now apply a reasonable regeneration again
- Cats and Dogs also regenerate properly again
- Shulker Boxes are awarded correctly on level 40 and 60, FINALLY

Nothing new other than this at this time.

Could you make some of the effects not show particles, like the resistance that you get from holding a shield?

I can look into adding that to the config. I opted to showing the effects of those because of the importance of knowing if you, say, have the feather's effect or not.

I'm aware that shulker boxes aren't being awarded (at all?) at 40 and 60 as they should. Trying to find the cause.

In the meantime, an admin can give one to you via commands.

Hi, is there a way to disable the longer days, as this is incompatible with the New in Town datapack, which gives you resources at noon everyday. It is repeatedly giving me resources every tick, which is very op. Could you change the time so instead of it being noon that is lengthened, it is some other time, or allow me to disable that part of the datapack?

Also interesting idea. I get how it can collide with things like that. I'll look into how complicated it would be to have more control of what part of the day gets longer!

Would it break the datapack if i deleted extended_day_init.mcfunction or extended_day_tick.mcfunction?

Hmmmmm, there might be a call to that function from someplace else in which case things will break. You SHOULD however be able to open extended_day_tick.mcfunction and replace all its contents with a single #

This should work, I hope. I know there's a way to decide the extra length of days through fiddling with scoreboard commands but I'll have to look deeper into that.

hi, i like a lot the datapack but when i reach level 50 i get blow up in the air and it doesnt stop and if i desactivate the exact module it stops but after that it resets and if i reach level 50 again it does the same thing

Sounds like you get the "levitation" effect somehow, the one that Shulkers inflict in The End. I'm fairly sure my datapack doesn't do that πŸ€”

The only thing that happens at level 50 is constantly applying "Luck III". Does that collide somehow with some other mod you're using? Luck is unobtainable in survival mode, and some other mod might be programmed to make you fly when you have Luck.

k, first try and worked fine, it was with technical enchant+ ltest version, i'll tell the person who posted it the conflict with luck that the datapack has
