Create an altar using 8x Gold blocks, 1x Netherite Block, 1x Netherrack and 4x Redstone Torches on top of bedrock (in the nether). There are plenty of tutorials on how to go above the bedrock. Light a fire on top of the netherrack block. Drop a dragon head in the fire to summon Herobrine.

BOSS BATTLE GUIDE

Note: Herobrine is way harder to defeat than the ender dragon. You will take a lot of direct damage in this battle so use the best gear you can get your hands on. Healing potions, totem of undying and strength potions can be very useful. Mending is recommended. Also, Herobrine will take away fire resistance potion effect from you during the whole battle, so don't bring your fire resistance potions.


When herobrine spawns he will create a huge crater beneath him along with blasting fireballs all around him. Use enderpearls or blocks to get back up or run away quickly when dropping the head.

In the first stage of the battle you must kill all 4 of his minions. Whilst you're taking these down you will get attacked by a huge waves of zombies and fireballs that Herobrine fires at you. Watch out for charged creepers.

Herobrine doesn't have a lot of health, but what he does have is a huge amount of absorption. When his minions are out of the picture you are free to attack him directly on.

The second stage is a lot harder than the first one. Herobrine himself comes down and joins the battle. He will teleport you around, blind you and summon vex. Once in a while he will go back up to his spot in the air and start shooting fireballs at you again. You will get struck by lightning when this happens. Take the opportunity to fire arrows at him while he is in the air. His melee attacks do a lot of damage so use a shield if you become cornered.

When Herobrine dies, his legendary artefact will descend from the sky above the crater; "The Notchcleaver".

Using the Notchcleaver signals to undead mobs that there is a new overlord. When held in mainhand, nearby undead entities will become unable to move at the cost of a small amount of XP. Drop glowstone dust on frozen entities to unfreeze them.
