Welcome to the Nine Lives Challenge! Inspired by a certain swashbuckling gato, this datapack allows you to play a survival minecraft world with 9 lives.
RULES:
-You start with one heart. After each death, you'll gain an additional heart.
-After each death, you get the option to select a special buff. The world gets harder after each death so choose wisely.
-Totems have a cooldown of one hour. The cooldown ends if you die.
-After 9 deaths, you stop respawning.
On your first life, the difficulty is set to easy, keepInventory is enabled, and mobGriefing is switched off. After each death, the world gets more difficult:
After 1 death: mobGriefing is enabled.
After 2 deaths: The difficulty is switched to normal.
After 3 deaths: keepInventory is disabled.
After 4 deaths: All hostile mobs are given 8 armor points.
After 5 deaths: The difficulty is switched to hard.
After 6 deaths: All hostile mobs are given a strength buff.
After 7 deaths: The daytime advances twice as quickly.
After 8 deaths: Your health no longer regenerates naturally.
Since the world gets harder after each death, you are allowed a buff to help you out on your journey. (remember, you also gain an additional heart after each death)
Buffs:
+1 Extra Heart
More Golden Apple Absorption
-5 Minutes of Totem Cooldown
+2 Armor
x3 randomTickSpeed
-1 Ingot for Golden Apple (max. 4)
Where will this datapack take you? Will you laugh in the face of death, or will your lives flash before your eyes?
Developers Note: This datapack is still in development and features may be added in the future. I plan to add advancements, a way to gain additional buffs, and perhaps a way for you to get your lives back. (no wishing star) Let me know your thoughts on this challenge down in the comments.
