This 1.16 datapack adds Potato blocks to the game!
How does the datapack work?
- To create a potato block, drop a stack of 64 potatoes onto the ground.
- They will clump into a Potato block.
- The Potato block has gravity like sand.
- Potato blocks act like a real pile of potatoes by spreading out randomly. However this only occurs when a stack of potatoes clump.
- When broken, it drops 64 potatoes.
Frequently asked questions:
- Why did you make this?
For fun.
- Do you have to store the Potato blocks in a silo?
No, it just sounded cool.
- Is this datapack laggy?
Not at all. Well, maybe if you made a giant potato block pile 250 blocks tall and clumped a stack of potatoes at the top you might get a lag spike. I haven't tested this.
- Since Potato blocks are just retextured brown concrete powder, can't you craft Potato blocks with the brown concrete powder recipe?
Yeah, but this is just a fun little datapack so I don't think its a big issue.
- Do the Potato blocks turn into brown concrete when contacting water?
Yes they do. I might retexture brown concrete into rotten/wet potatoes.
- Is this multiplayer compatible?
Yes.
How to download:
- Download the .zip file
- Drop the file into .minecraft/saves/YOUR_WORLD_NAME/datapacks
- In the world, type /reload
- Alternatively, you can add this datapack during world creation. If so, just move it in and you're all set!
