THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN ABANDONED. FOR UPDATED PACK CONTENT, VISIT: www.planetminecraft.com/data-pack/epic-adventures-data-pack-beta/

Welcome to my newest project! With this data pack, you may notice that most monsters have a vastly expanded loot table, providing some early and mid game content in order to make those points in the game a bit more exciting and interesting. There are currently four supported vanilla monsters that have about 6-7 unique items added to their loot tables each. The zombie, the creeper, the skeleton, sheep, cow, pig, chicken, and spider all have revamped loot tables that feature powerful, unique items. I plan on adding integration for every single monster in the game, but this is a very time consuming process, so I want to get a gauge for interest in the community on this project before I commit any more time to it.

FEATURES:
-Custom loot integration for the creeper, zombie, skeleton, spider, cow, chicken, sheep, pig, and drowned, with plans to integrate every single monster and mob in the game with custom and unique loot.
-This does not replace the original loot tables of monsters. You still are able to collect all of their drops respectively, but some of them drop their items more commonly or less commonly, depending on certain factors.
-For example, a creeper can now drop tnt, green dye, and about 10 different items that all have custom attributes, names, and features that give them an almost world of warcraftesque feel to them.
-Another example would be the spider, who drops the rare Silken Cuirass, a piece of gear that grealty increases player speed and damage, yet reduces the player's overall max health.
-There are currently four effigies, artifacts, etc... (the name isn't as important as what they are supposed to represent). These items are unique drops that are very rare from every 'class' of monster. For example, the zombie drops the zombie effigy very rarely, which, when held, gives the user zombie like properties, increasing overall damage dealt and maximum health, while reducing player speed.
-All of the items are created with a vanilla, balanced feel in mind. If you find yourself using this data pack thinking that one of the items is overpowered, please let me know, because the entire data pack is a work in progress.

Planned Features:
-Integration of some kind of loot crate via chests that would feature virtually every item in minecraft across different themed crates. For example, you kill a creeper, and get a chest labeled 'combat box mk. I'. You place the chest, open it, and find various items that are all unique, bolstering attribute bonuses like max health and damage. These crates will also consist of resource crates that contain ingots, gems, and other items along those lines.
-A new rarity of items from monsters that are more difficult to kill. For example, when you kill the wither, you of course get all of the drops you would normally get. However, there will be a pool of items added to its drop table that will consist of very powerful weapons, armor, and tools to improve the players late game experience.
-I want to create crates that have certain themes across the board that drop from all monsters, and integrating that feature really won't be difficult, but time consuming. For example, when creating the drop table for the creeper, I considered adding an entirely unique pool that featured all of the music discs. However, this, I thought, would be too easy of a way to obtain those items, so I plan on adding a crate that is dropped from every monster that contains every music disc in the game, but you only get one at a time, providing a unique way of obtaining those items.

Update #1 - Peaceful mobs : by Builders Union 11/16/2020 1:12:00 pmNov 16th, 2020

Hello again!

Judging off the pretty great response I got off the first edition of this data pack, I decided to keep on working to give you guys some more loot to look for. Again, this is a very time consuming process, and I also work and go to school full time, so please bear with me-updates will come out as frequently as I can produce them to a decent-enough quality.

Custom loot has been added for the following monsters:

-Cow
-Pig
-Chicken
-Sheep
-Drowned

For now, the peaceful monsters have the lowest drop rates of unique items for what I would hope are obvious reasons. Each peaceful monster had at least 5-6 unique tools and armors added to their tables, with the drowned getting about 9-10. So in total there is about 30-40 more unique items for you guys to go find. Please continue to leave your feedback, it is greatly appreciated.

Roughly what are the chances of a mob dropping custom loot?

I would say it's pretty high, but its dependent on the type of monster that you are killing. Probably 1/3 for most monsters, very roughly

Ah okay, thanks!

Would there be any way to tweak that? Like what if I wanted the overall chance to be lower or higher?

yes-open your .minecraft folder and navigate to the saves folder that contains the datapack. Open the datapack in the saves folder, and navigate to the minecraft folder/loot tables. From there you will find several json files; to edit the drop chances, open one of those json files, and change the "weight" and "quality" arguments to whatever you like. Heigher weight=heigher chance of being dropped

Hi, I do not think the data pack is working for me and I am in 1.16.4. Is there a /function command or any command? Or is there a way to test if it works because I have killed about 100 skeletons and have not got anything.

No, all you need to do for this data pack to function is to extract the regular folder from the zip file, and place that into the world that you are playing on's datapack folder in your .minecraft file.

Looks very good! Just to say, I feel that dark blue on a black background is really hard to read. Still amazing!

Good so far but I suggest you make use of custom colours in the item names - using “blue” and “yellow” can be seen as ugly or unappealing when you can now pick between shades of lavender or orange or brown - colours you couldn’t. I suggest lavender and gray as a nice colour for the lore with item names as brown

For sure! I'll consider that moving forward. I do personally prefer the stark colors because they remind me of Diablo and WoW, but thank you for your comments!
