This Data Pack will automatically plant saplings that have been dropped from a player or from a tree.

Please message me if you discover any bugs in the Data Pack so I can fix them.

You've probably seen a Data Pack like this before, quite a few exist on this website alone. However, I issue you that this is the most detailed and bug free version available!

Plus, I've added particles and sound effects for a more immersive experience.

This Data Pack should make life easier, so not much effort is required to use it.

Simply drop a sapling of any kind on Grass, Dirt, Coarse Dirt, Podzol or Farmland and after one to six seconds you should see some particles appear around the item.

The particles will appear twice, then on the third time a sapling will be placed and the item will be consumed.

The process can take up to ten seconds in total from the item touching the ground to the sapling being placed.

Well done

Might be cool to make trees a live expectancy, so you have a working forest, but lot more works, and lag

I have a certain problem, I'm, with a friend, using your data pack on our Realm, but it doesn't function. We were a little confused and i wanna try to have a reply from you.

Thanks for responding!

Nice datapack and works like a charm in singleplayer. However I tested it on a quick server of mine and noticed the sapling wouldn't kill itself if it was the only one on the ground. Any stacked saplings worked fine and did decrease by one. When I added this line of command underneath you first scoreboard command in the 'plant' function it seemed to work: execute if score @s item_count matches 0 run kill @s

Happy coding!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I usually just test multiplayer compatible things in a LAN world, and I don't remember having this issue. I've updated the Datapack with the command you suggested.
Thanks again!
