Have you come seeking a challenge? Do you miss the fear and the thrills of your early Minecraft games, as you delved into the depths? Do you turn up your brightness setting to maximum, like a coward? Does feeling your sweaty palms shake on your mouse and keyboard as you terrifyingly encroach into the unknown with only the glowing red eyes of monsters to guide your steps sound like fun to you?

Then, you've come to the right place! Stoo's Darker Caves is a tiny, miniscule datapack that's sole purpose is to deepen the shadows of the Overworld. That's all it really takes to make the game perfect for your Halloween nights. It's highly akin to the Hardocre Darkness mod of old, except that the effect of Darker Caves is mostly reserved for caves and oceans, where light never reaches.

There are no performance issues, no compatibility issues with this pack. It works by reducing the ambient light level of the Overworld, making the darkest shadows almost pitch black. An interesting side effect is that Night Vision looks more realistic than before, and might not be the saving grace you hope it will be. Bring torches, tread carefully.
