WARNING: Taller Nether is an EXPERIMENTAL WORLD GENERATION DATAPACK that is subject to change. Because of this, make sure that you UPDATE the datapack every time a new version comes out.
This datapack works in version 1.16.5. The current version may break in the future and will most likely break in past versions.
With that out of the way;
Welcome to Taller Nether datapack v2.5 by FireNH! This datapack makes it so that rather than the Nether generating 128 blocks high with a 128 block high void above the roof, the Nether generates all the way up to the build limit. Exploring the Nether feels much more expansive and huge, and changes the way the dimension feels outright. All of the vanilla biomes generate in mostly the same way, but way taller.
My inspiration for this datapack was Antvenom's video "the feature we NEED For Minecraft 1.16?!", but the mod he used hasn't been updated since 20w10a (over 4 months ago), so I remade the mod myself as a datapack.
Installation Instructions (also provided in README.txt in the .zip folder):
Known bugs in Taller Nether Version 2.4:
- Crimson and Warped Forests don't generate Wart blocks in the ground. They still generate it on trees, just not underground. I deemed that not too big of a hassle, as you barely ever notice it.
- Crimson Forests, Warped Forests, and Soul Sand Valleys don't generate soul sand and gravel beaches
- Ceilings in Soul Sand Valleys and Basalt Deltas have hard edges on chunk borders
I will get to fixing these bugs eventually, but for now it's barely noticeable, so I deemed it fit for release.
The tools I used to make this were Misode's Minecraft Generators (https://misode.github.io/) and Nick's Datapack Generator (don't remember where I downloaded it from but you can google it if you want I guess)
Thanks for checking out my datapack! Feel free to use it anywhere, just give me credit pls if you do :P
Also, thank you so much for 100 downloads!

Installation Instructions (also provided in README.txt in the .zip folder)
1. Download the datapack (duh)
2. Add the .zip called "firenh-taller-nether-v2-5.zip" as the datapack to your world.
2a) If you are creating a NEW WORLD, add the datapack to your world in the DATAPACK SELECTION SCREEN BEFORE MAKING YOUR WORLD. When you click "Create New World" a screen should pop up saying "Worlds using Experimental Settings are not supported." If you wish to use this experimental datapack, click Proceed.
2b) If you are adding the datapack to an EXISTING WORLD, navigate to your DATAPACKS folder and drag the zipped folder called "firenh-taller-nether-v2-5.zip" into it. Make sure you log out and log back in rather than typing /reload. If you want to reset your nether, delete the folder in the world save called "DIM-1" (don't delete "DIM1", that's the end). Note that this world is now using experimental settings, and can't be safely downgraded.
3. That's it! You're done! If this datapack breaks anything, it's probably due to the experimental world gen, so please don't cyberbully me unless you're 100% sure it's my fault.
You have been warned.
