Note: This project is in beta (meaning it is incomplete). Expect major updates in the future.

"Krah'Getahr or as you would call it, the Devourer of Skulls was once a ravenous beast which roamed the dunes many millenniums ago, constantly feasting on its unfortunate preys, big and small. One day, it deceased from famine due to the lack of creatures in its natural habitat, a ruined ecosystem. Hundreds of years later when illagers are presented to the world as we all know, an evoker was demanded to experiment on the now skeletal monstrosity to bring it back to life and do their bidding. The unfortunate evoker slotted in a reinforced "Totem of Undying" into the maw of the creature and slowly but surely, its segments started to move til' it completely showed signs of revival. The experiment was a success. The outcome on the other hand, wasn't. Many lives were taken on that fateful day while the ravenous beast continued to roam the lands for two more years until it eventually met its "second demise" due to the totem's power finally wearing out. That however, generated a special saber in its skull. According to the rumors told, those who wield it will be granted with special abilities. However in order to do so, you may have to bring it back to life where it will soften its bones, causing it to be vulnerable for striking. But that will require you to journey up to miles away. Not only that, it is heavily guarded by special skeletal guards and will require another totem for its revival. Will you, the adventurer, accept this quest?"

"Devourer of Skulls" is a datapack which adds an entirely new boss to the game, its namesake of course. But be warned however, for summoning this thing and taking it down can be considered a real challenge. But not to worry, for the reward for slaying this monstrosity makes all that trouble worth it! To start off, you will have to locate its fossiI.

Fossil of a Ravenous Beastwidth=1128This structure spawns in deserts approximately 1250 blocks away from the initial world spawn and from another fossil. But the player will also have take caution, as it is warded by skeletal guards and the fact that they are unable to break blocks around it.

width=1128width=1128Anyway, once the player has taken down the guards, they will need a Totem of Undying. Once, they have acquired one, they have to drop it onto this specific spot of the fossil's jaw and watch as a ritual begins.

But take note that the player will have to clear out the area surrounding the devourer's head. If they don't, it will start off 𝔀𝔩𝔬𝔴𝔦𝔫𝔀. While it is 𝔀𝔩𝔬𝔴𝔦𝔫𝔀, it will be invulnerable to all forms of damage until its tail is free.

1. The devourer will slow down and spit out three bones for seven times.

2. The devourer will attempt to ram the player for six times.

3. Bones will pop up at each player for eight times.

4. Four skulls will come hurling at you in either an "X" or a "+" formation. Indicators will appear to determine which formation the attack is going to take.

VIDEO CLlP (Poor bunnies...):

5. The devourer will blow massive clouds of dust which are harmful to the player.

Upon finally slaying the monstrosity, each segment will drop lots of experience totaling up to 200 experience points which equals to 12 levels. You will also be rewarded with a Fossilized Bane. A sword which will grant the player various buffs as well as a special ability. Each time they hit a mob with that sword, they will have a chance of restoring saturation (hunger).

Check the weapon out in action!

Those who have obtained this powerful weapon can prove themselves superior and cherish this for a very long time. By the end of the day however, it is still breakable and needs to be repaired if necessary.

Anyways, you have reached the end of this project's description. I have worked very hard on this for weeks so I hope you enjoy this datapack!

Same problem as the Hydro fury datapack but the "bone block side" causes the problem

There is. The download button will lead you to its file page on Curseforge. Of course, it is recommended to install the latest version.

The resource pack will be located inside the .zip file you will install.

My only problems with this datapack are:

A. When the boss gets fully submerged in water it loses the ability to take damage since the slimes stop riding the armorstands.

B. Fossil... How do you expect me to find that? I think if you did something more similar to ShadowLands with a custom structure in a specific biome it would be easier... But fossil? I like the idea, though. Another solution is to make cartographers sell a map that leads to these fossils. Or some lodestone compass or smthn.

A. Damn, I had not thought of that. Do you have any ideas of how to evade this issue? (Oh and by the way, the slimes are riding zombies, not armor stands. This is so that the model of the head and other segments are able to face up and down.)

B. This fossil is an entirely different structure. It spawns only in deserts around 1250 blocks away from the initial world spawn (Once the message when the player first joins the world displays in chat). This structure has a very different method of spawning which involves entities, meaning it requires chunks to be loaded by the player so the cartographer method wouldn't work.

(Man, upon knowing all this, I realized how abhorrent this datapack is. Thank you for reporting these issues though.)

I wouldn't say this dp is abhorrent but its still in beta lol.

A. Idk how you'd do it but maybe getting the boss to avoid water somehow could work? There's no real work around to water canceling out riding entities.

B. It's really not as big of a problem as I made it seem. Its not a bad structure because I know what happened to woodland mansions. Since deserts are common biomes, though, it's not that bad at all. If you need my help, I can help you use default worldgen rather than functions to generate the fossil? As of currently, though, it still generates ok.

PS: The boss is still epic. I had fun fighting this thing!

Ya' think so? It's only one update away from what I consider "full" though. (It's gonna be symphonic one)

A. I think I had just found a wonderful solution. You know how Withers "destroy" water and lava? Since there's already a mob that does that in the game, I will code all the segments to remove any water / lava around them.

B. Default worldgen? Sounds interesting. Though the fossil does contain several custom entities. Just hoping if that method is compatible with maintaining those.

Oh gee... thanks!
