The Forsaken Lord adds the titular boss to your world, though as time has worn him down to a skeleton, he cannot awake without your intervention. Search for his tomb in the Soul Sand Valley (replacing any Bastions which would normally have generated there) if you wish to try to wake him. Then, to disturb him from his slumber, break the skull at the center of the room and prepare for a fight!

Once woken, the Lord of the Undead will attack you with all the might he retains from the ravages of time. As a boss, the Forsaken Lord is slightly tougher to take down than either the Ender Dragon or the Wither, and uses various magical spells to chip away at your health. Protection enchantments are strongly recommended, though conventional armor is also helpful, as he will also summon his minions throughout the fight. The fight has three phases, but I won't spoil them here ;)

Once you've beaten him once, come back with the best gear you can muster and fight him again to gain vast riches! Find another tomb and right click near the skull while holding his staff to resummon him for a final rematch. This challenging fight, while incredibly difficult, has vast rewards!

One last note: don't get caught in the ring of fire!
