    Maybe make if you kill the broom you get the items back and only give the item if you sit on the broom and clear them if not

    Maybe make the broom go in the direction the player is looking? I think you can do that by teleporting it ^.1 ^ ^ at the head every tick when the player is on the broom

    Well, that is a good idea, but you cannot teleport players and the thing you are mounted on at the same time. When I do this, it will not move the broom because the player is on the broom already.
