Introducing the Strider Jockey!

The Strider Jockey is a unique wandering trader that spawns in the lava lakes of the Nether. He'll spawn riding a strider and will be waiting to give you a variety of unique trades that will assist you in your nether adventures.

(Much like my spelunker and voyager traders, the Strider Jockey uses other mobs as a piggyback for its spawning algorithm. After 50 striders spawn over lava, the 50th strider will be replaced with a jockey!)

This is the last of my wandering trader series but one of the first releases of mini datapacks pulled straight from True Survival Version 1.0!

Loved bumping into this guy. A bit rarer than the spelunker so when I came back with my loot to trade in he was long gone. Alas.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but twice now I've died on a strider because a jockey spawns into my saddle and spatially displaces me(I die to falling through the world according to the game).

OMG! I know that's bad for both you, cause you lost items, and me cause i coded the dang thing, but i audibly laughed reading this. (thanks for letting me know, ill look into a fix)

Heh, ya know it wasn't amusing at the time, but after the fact it is pretty funny. Also, the second time was supposed to just be a test then I forgot it could happen and died, so really that one was on me. Great mutations of the wandering trader though, I love all three.

Hmm it should be? This one spawns in all new traders separate from the spawning algorithm of the vanilla one. From what I understand, there should be no issues. (Though I haven't really tested very much)

Awesome dude! Really cool idea for a datapack. Love how you repurpose the wandering trader which doesnt get enough love imo. Also really like the survival-friendly aspects of the pack.



Can't wait to see more of these!
