The Zelda Stalfos data pack replaces skeletons that spawn into the world with Stalfos. Stalfos wield a sword instead of a bow. When killed, the Stalfos crumb falls to pieces with a custom death animation. The head is left intact and will attempt to run away from you. You must finish off the head, otherwise, the Stalfos will be able to reform and you will have to fight it again.


So, how does the pack work?


Zelda Stalfos works by detecting any skeletons that spawn into the world and replaces them with a Stalfos. Stalfos have custom spawning and death animations, custom health and damage stats and upgraded AI. The pack requires the use of a resource pack to display the Stalfos death models, as well as custom models for the disembodied head.

This pack comes with a settings option, which is displayed on reload. Install the pack and run the /reload command. The settings allow you to configure the spawn rates of the mobs in this pack.

To install, follow the instructions contained in the "instructions.txt" file included in the download. If you are still having issues, ask for help on our discord.



The download includes both the data pack and resource pack. Make sure to put both files into their correct locations.

-Updated all textures to use new custom model data. This should allow for much greater compatibility with other peoples datapacks.
-Increased performance.
-Fixed issue where bug detection wasn't working properly. (yes, ironic, I know).

Due to texture changes, Zelda Stalfos isn't fully compatible with version 2.0. However, it fixes itself in a short amount of time.

I'm using a resource pack that swaps pillagers's model with skeleton's. How do I edit this data pack to give pillagers the stalfos death effect?

You would have to manually do that for every frame of the animation, modeling it out yourself.

May I ask why anyone would ever want that?

No need for remodeling. Only changing pillagers to spawn the falling bones and rabbit-skull-thing upon death instead of skeletons.

Ohhh, I misunderstood. I thought you were replacing skeletons with pillagers, not the other way around.
That you would need to do in the datapack. It should be pretty simple. Just read through the pack and figure it out. I generally add plenty of notes that should help you out.

I honestly don't know. I never updated it past 1.14 so I'm not even sure if the pack still works.
However, I absolutely don't have time to help you out with this, so you will need to figure it out yourself, sorry.

with the latest version of this datapack in 1.14.4 the armor stand for the stalof's head is getting knocked off the rabbit somehow

I have a question, this pack replaces all skeletons that spawn, for example even mob-spawner skeletons?

Yes, sort of. Currently, you can configure the spawn rates/replace rates of skeletons. By default, it is 100%, but it can be set to all sorts of different percentages. And yes, it would replace spawner spawned skeletons.
