Anyone know how to solve bad fps?
I've been getting really bad frames on minecraft but my pc runs higher graphics games fine
I tried re-installing the game which made no difference - I've had to turn the graphics settings right down just to be able to average around 30fps and even then I'm still getting terrible frame drops
I have no idea what to do now but if anyone does then please help lol

Hey, found out this thing but the post was 2 months ago but anyways, there was a driver update for all nvidia gpus maybe you were playing on integerated graphics

try over clocking your cpu, my friend did it to me and i get a ton of fps, also delete stuff in the temps folder also check if your java is upto date, if you did any of these steps, you might get a decent framerate
1
this is the bedrock edition section
1
oh i didnt see that but if you leave the java part, it might work
3
did you do something before hand or install anything as of recently? if so it might be running in the background
also there might be something eating up your cpu, check task manager (ctrl + shift + esc) and check whats eating up ur computer. close any background task that you know you don't need (for example, i always close adobe creative cloud and steam when im playing minecraft,) but make sure that you KNOW what it is, if you're not sure if your computer can run without that, then don't close it.
often times, when im playing on vanilla, i use optifine. i'm assuming you've already tried optifine and there are a few settings that you can change to optimise things so hopefully they'll be better. I turn down my biome blend to be 3x3/none, everything to fast, and turned off stable fps.
if none of those solutions work, then it might just be a problem with minecraft itself, and not your computer or your game. minecraft is not optimised, so even on fully capable computers, there will still be lag.
i hope you fix your issue soon! i get the frustration with this type of situation :(

theres no optifine for bedrock edition

You could try lowering you're draw distance.

If you're on a laptop, you can adjust the battery settings to High Performance.
You can do that by right click either start or the battery icon at the taskbar, then click Windows Mobility Center.
And yeah, allocate more memory to the game (JVM Arguments). Could be best to allocate half of your total memory (RAM).
"End task" useless background processes in Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) (do it at you own risk).

the problems with laptops is their cooling system sucks, i only have a laptop
1
Aside from the very useful advise another gave you about high performance mode. You need a cooling pad, since laptops have limited options for cooling with the amount of internal space they have for components it is wise to put your laptop on a cooling pad, USB powered obviously. Also try disabling apps you don't use, there are guides online that show you how to do this safely but do some extensive research, trust me it'll pay off and may save you some money. And keep your power cord in when gaming, so your CPU and GPU can remain in their highest clock speed state at all times.
2
that was a problem with my old one, now i got a better laptop, it never heats up and i mostly never hear the fan sound at all, but the performance is also fast
1
I'd still recommend a cooling pad just in case, because over time computers collect dust which doesn't help. It's always a smart thing to keep computers as cool as possible so long as the coolest temp is above the lowest safe operating temperature of parts. All computers generate some amount of heat, it's a basic byproduct of electrical energy passing through circuits, although it is a good thing I would say that you got a new laptop, I wish you good times ahead.

extend your RAM, it may cause lag if your pc is a potato, but i work in a verrry old laptop and it solves it for me
1
when I mean extend i meant allocate :)

you can edit comments

yea I forget that sometimes :P

Close everything in the background. Try opening up task manager too to see how much of your cpu it's eating up, if it's at 100% that's probably it

1.Use optifine (if vanilla)
2.Use sodium (if modded)
3.Allocate more ram under JVM args (Go under installations, go to the version, see more, change the 2 in -Xmx2G to 3 or more, depending on how much ram you can and want to allocate)

optfine, and get pvp pack
2
pvp packs actually make it slower due to them tending to have higher resolution textures
1
oh. But I think they make the textures look cooler, making it easier to pvp. Do u pvp?
1
cooler textures in fact, does not make it easier to pvp, it's completely cosmetic and client side.
1
that doesnt make it run smoother dude
also there are plenty of 16x resolution pvp packs lol
also there are plenty of 16x resolution pvp packs lol
1
yeah but most of them are at least 32x
1
uh... no? its almost a 50/50 split between 16x packs and any other resolution packs
2
If it's on java edition, I recommend getting either badlion, or optifine.

Is this on java, or bedrock edition?
