"Cookie"
some weird long name that doesn't even match the pet
something that maches their personality (I had 3 guinea pigs and each of them was very different, even from others guinea pigs)
"Cupcake" - for big, scary and aggresive dog
And some names for small, cute animals in german because it sounds more sinister:
-"Weltzerstörer"
-"Apokalyptiker"
-"Knochenbrecher"
-"Blutkrieg"

Aside from the nature of the pet, what is meant by 'cool'? [Yes, I know too much YMMV]
For instance: the fictional dog in The Firm was owned by a lawyer and named "Hearsay", which wouldn't be nearly as fun for a non-lawyer. In contrast, The Terminator's Sarah Connor kept an iguana nemd "Pugsley', while "Dead like Me" had a dog named "J.D." (for "Just Dog") and an old Disney flick had a cat called "D.C." (for "DAMN Darn, Cat")… all of which are more commonly applicable.
Some years back my house had a dog named "Oddr Snorrason" after the Icelandic monk/author in reference to the dog's saga length vocalizing.

Well, it would depend on the type of pet. I have a cat named Bumblebee and a guinea pig named Phoenix. Do those count?
