I don't use that, I use my own method of publishing packs. I create a .zip file and put mods, texture packs, configuration and maps in it!

You can download it on my website https://jacksonjohnson317.wixsite.com/gigapack
Just follow the steps and you should be on your way to playing my pack, it's getting a new name and adventure map soon!

thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed it

That big of a difference huh? So will any 1050 I get be compatible or do I gotta get a specific one? Will that computer support the power it needs? And will it fit?

As long as you get at least a MT model, any 1050/1050 Ti will fit. From what I can tell, the OptiPlex X90 (390, 790, 990) and up use standard motherboard layouts, so compatibility won't be an issue. Because of the size of the case, longer video cards may have trouble, but even the full-length 1050 and 1050 Ti models should have no problem fitting.

So you thinking I should go with a 4gb 1050 ti. How well do you think that'll perform

It'll perform very well.

How much fps do you think I'll get without upgrading it and leaving it as it is

Not much, considering what kind of GPUs they ship these machines with. The listing says "AMD Radeon HD 7000 1GB," which could technically be anything from an HD 7450 to an HD 7850, but my money is on it being the former.

Model: Optiplex 9010 Mid-Tower
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570 3.40GHz
Memory: 8 GB
Hard Drive: 1TB
Optical: DVD-RW
Video: AMD Radeon HD 7000 ( 1 GB dedicated video )
DVI Port
VGA Port
Serial Port
3 x Display Port
10 x USB ( 2.0 and 3.0 )
Everything seems good on this I just don't if the video card is good or not.
Also the i5 is a 3rd gen
And if the stock video card is a no go, do you think the gtx 750ti would be compatible with that. I looked up the price it's right around the area of $120

And there's 2 kinds of 750's I found 1 is a 2gb and the others a 4gb. Is there much of a difference? Is the 4gb one worth getting

You should be looking for a 1050 or 1050 Ti. They're the current gen cards and much better for the money.

As for that 9010, it looks to be spec'd out pretty darn well. Definitely go for it if you can afford it.

The ones I said above are low-profile ready, which means they'll be supported in mini-tower, desktop, and small form factor (SFF)

Getting a SFF system limits his ability to upgrade in the future. Instead of eventually upgrading the power supply to get a more powerful GPU, he'd be stuck to using lower-midrange GPUs, since those are the most powerful cards they make in low-profile form factors.

I know, I was just listing all of the form factors the cards I talked about supports. Also, the 1050 Ti card I suggested is low profile ready, yet it doesn't seem to come with the bracket which is odd. Oops.

OP, make sure the 3020 you found is at least a mini-tower (MT) model. the small form factor (SFF) ones will only fit low-profile GPUs.

I should also point out that the 1050 Ti you suggested does not come with a low-profile bracket. This Gigabyte card, on the other hand, does.

They'll probably overcharge you. It's very easy to install a graphics card, if you want I can send you a video showing how to open the computer.

As for the GPU, just go with what we said above.I am using a GTX 750ti which works fine and runs with the frames I specified earlier. Then there is a GTX 1050 Ti for a pretty low price but I am unsure if it would work because I've never tried it. Again, you'd be wasting your money if you went to a computer repair shop and have them do it for you IMO

Moved to Gaming and Technology

upgrading to 16gb ram will not solve all your problems, mainly due to the fact that (if im looking at the right pc here) this optiplex comes with integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 which is easily outperformed by cards like a gtx 980 etc, i feel your priorities should lay on getting a hold of a graphics card for it instead of filling it up with unnecessary ram

as for your question on your thread which ima continue over here (2 threads aint really needed

GuywholikespieWhich card would you recommend that's compatible with this model. I was gonna ask about that but I forgot to put it.

tbh if i could run my old optiplex 745 with a gtx 960 stuffed in it (there was crazy bottlenecking but it worked) there is no reason you cant, it comes down to how much money you have and how much you are willing to spend, you can easy stick some of the older graphics cards in it, like gtx 960s, gtx 980 etc the new ones would probably work as well, but as i said it comes down to what money you got (also how good your computer is at cooling but that is easy fixed)

Alright think I found a optiplex 3020 on eBay
Dell Optiplex 3020 Intel Core i5-4570 3.20GHz 8GB 500GB Windows 10 Pro Desktop
The i5 is a 4th gen
the ram is a 8gb but if it isn't as fast as I want it I found a 16gb ram on amazon
It doesn't say anything about the graphics card though

What do you think about this

I suggest getting a GPU no better than a 1050 Ti, though - anything more powerful will require a power supply upgrade.

As for the processor, you shouldn't need to buy a better one. Pick up one with at least a second-gen i5 and you'll be good to go, though I recommend getting one with an i7.

That's not a bad idea. I actually use a Dell Optiplex w/ a gtx 750ti, 500gb ssd, 8GB RAM, and an Intel Core 2 Quad (instead of the Core 2 duo) and it works perfect for my needs. I'm able to run most shaders with pretty good frames.
