Alright, So I've strived a problem once again in Minecraft. I can't hear rain. I can only hear it in certain biomes, but I'm in a plain grassland biome and I can't hear it. I set my Particles to Decreased, because Minimal doesn't allow you to hear rain. But the problem, yet again, occurs when I'm in these biomes. I can hear thunder but not rain. Any way to fix it?

If you desperately need the ran... Backup your saves, delete .minecraft folder, open uo minecraft and it will redownload everything then bring in your saves.

The only thing that I could say that seems kind of obvious to me, is to check to see if your sound effects volume for minecraft is turned up. I know it seems kind of derp, but I've heard all kinds of stories where stuff like that happens, for instance, light goes out, guys spends hours changing wires and circuit breakers, turns out the bulb was burnt out, so on and so forth....I'm only mentioning this because I haven't seen this written anywhere else on the thread

I know that Mountains have rain, but not the sound, so perhaps, if you are in a mountain plain biome (the one that allows for better compatibility with other biomes that surrounds the mountain) you'd be seeing, but not feeling.

Go to a different biome, perhaps?

I've noticed sometimes there are patches of rain that don't make sound. Try moving around inside the storm some, and if you've already tried that and it doesn't work, I don't know what's wrong. If I find an answer I'll tell you though.

The question is why would you want to hear rain?

Because. It's essentially one of my favorite things of Minecraft.

Hmm, interesting. Seems like the rain does not want to talk to you... No, just kidding See if your rain sound is in the resource folder.

Yes; all rain sounds are in the folder. I can't hear it in the Extreme Hills biome or flat land biome.

I tried that as well. Doesn't work.

This problem has been occurring since I first got Minecraft (1.0.0).

Try re-downloading your .minecraft folder/bin folder.. That should fix what ever bugs you have like that *Also, you can try restarting the sound with s+control.. I believe it's that anyways*
