Akumu_Kitsune_I was making custom potions for my survival world and I got the first step to work,
I throw a carrot and water bottle on the ground it gives me a Haste 1 potion 3:00
Command blocks that do this >pastebin.com/bQE7m2Lh<
(This works fine)
The next part is what doesn't
I tried to make it so when you throw that potion made with those command blocks and a piece of redstone it makes it haste 1 8:00
But it always gives me a datatag error and I've searched everywhere and can't find a way to fix it!
Command blocks 2 > https://pastebin.com/ayH0m9vq <
which command is giving the error? I quickly skimmed through it and didn't see anything, but you have a lot of commands there. If you're not sure, try running all the commands one at a time from your chat to see if the work. For instance, throw redstone on the ground and run the command to tag it etc.

well custom potions are not a thing sorry

I'm gonna have to assume you are either a troll or you know nothing about command blocks because custom potions are definitely a thing.

they already said they made a custom potion.... also theres a mod that allows you to get these if its possible in vanilla....
which command block is freaking out and whats its output error?
all you should need to do is copy the first part and then edit tags to be for the second part
id assume you mightve done "{tag,[innertag{moretags}}" aka {} has [] has {} but WAIT... { then [ to { to the closing } to the... theres no closing for the ] causing an error and then the outer tags closing }
aka you likely did {[{}} or related but needed {[{}]} aka all tag starts need a tag closing... or in terms of coding like visual basic or whatever: all "if"'s need a "then" and you always need an "end if" and then an "end" but you forgot an end if and its like "oh gawd idk what to do kill the process!!!" and it gives the error
specifically though the command blocks that error are the ones youll need to say k within a
