I just built my first modern house and I would love to hear what you guys think of it. Is it detailed enough? Too detailed for this style? I'd love to hear some feedback.

You can view it here: http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/ ... ern-house/

Also, if you think I did a good job, it wouldn't hurt to leave a diamond.

Hey! I have a house named tranquility as well! Lol. It is actually a modern house as well. Overall it's not bad, however it's not great either. It seems a bit square. Adding some more horizontal shapes that contrast each other nicely may help to get that sleek modern feel. Also I have a blog of 20+ modern building tips for both exterior, interior, structure, materials and pallet, and inspiration! If u ever need help with feedback or ideas on a modern build feel free to pm me man I left a diamond btw.

I've seen several of your projects (but not the Tranquility one). I'm thankful for the feedback and I'll try to implement these suggestions in my next modern build. Oh, and thanks for the diamond!

To me the outside looks like a Greek temple

It's a nice house, but it is definitely not modern. If you were to build an ancient greek city, then I would build this style. If you want to build modern, check out colors, mattanjust, or other modern houses you might see on pop reel as a reference.

It is pretty sweet!

The thing is that it doesn't feel very modern. It'a cool house, don't get me wrong! But the shapes and the colors make it feel less modern-ish

Next time, maybe use colored hardened clay, stone, wood planks (for the exterior), quartz (you did use a lot of it, use less actually) and bushes :3

Just some feedback, not being mean, harsh or anything

I like it and I've been toying with the ideas of adding vines so my 'Little house in the forest' I'm going to be working on after my three story castle dome. So thanks for showing me how the vines will look on a structure, it's appreciated. As for the house it seems pretty cool to me.

Vines definitely work best on medieval structures (I've done more medieval building than anything else so I speak from experience).

It looks okay, but I can tell you don't build modern often. Neither do I, but from what I've seen, modern builds are about clean lines and cool shapes.
I would add more structure, it looks like a dressed up cube.
Also, try varying the block types, just like medieval isn't all cobble, modern isn't all quartz.
On the other hand, the downstairs looks nice!
Sorry if it sounds harsh, just trying to give feed back!

That's not harsh at all. Thanks for the feedback; I'll try to use more materials for my next modern build and perhaps make it a larger (and less cubic) structure

Hmmm, although I don't play Minecraft, I would say it's pretty good.
BUT,
Last time I checked, I didn't see vines growing down the sides of houses (at lease not in my state / country).
