I would suggest just flying over it with generate forest from World Edit and it will be filled with in mins in game.

definitely world painter just hold down click to make the trees more and more dense

Hello. A program called Worldpainter allows you to place trees very quickly. I would recommend that you use it but its your decision. By the way nice island.
