I'm currently building an entire kingdom right now and I need some ideas of what I should add/build. The theme that I'm kind of going for is like Dark Academia/ Trauma, basically anything that's dark. No although it sounds like it its not in ruins that's just the kind of things I want for it.

If I end up using your idea I will tell you and put a sign outside/on the idea you recommended.

After I'm done building it (witch probably wont be for a while) I might open it up to the people that recommended the ideas I used in it.

So ya thank you for recommended something if you did.

This idea is interesting. I'm going to give you some ideas that
involve historical factors. Starting with the first considerations,
medieval constructions changed a great deal between 500 and 1500.
These dates are perhaps unfamiliar, known
as the Middle Ages.
They are even divided into 2 steps. Low middle age and high middle age.
The low middle age is considered when the ''barbarians'' are fighting
the church. For this reason churches from that time tend to look like this.

If you look closely, this church looks like a fort, this is the
intention of churches in the low middle ages due to
barbaric attacks.
Now an example of a church in the high middle ages, when the
barbarians mostly became Catholic.

Do you see how big this church is?! This is because the barbarians
would no longer be a problem for the church, so
colossal but fragile constructions against attacks became possible.

Now about castles. This topic is perhaps interesting because it is little
known. Castles in the west and east.
Usually and due to the engineering of each nation, castles in the
west, such as france, italy, mainly european nations
in general, will have a more square design, as you can see in the
image. This is because their constructions are made of
wood and then pebbles or other materials.
On the other hand, oriental castles are made with more advanced engineering
and design and are possible to be built in more circular shapes.
This allows the more circular shaped castle to allow for more
efficient defense compared
to European designs.
Eastern castles also don't necessarily need wooden bases,
making them more effective against flame attacks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------My other topic now is about city building. Villages are usually
built around castles. This is because in the Middle Ages
the economic and political system was the fief. So a nobleman
with funds built his castle or inherited it.
So people worked in this manor, in return they would receive protection
from attack, but they should work for the feudal lord.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now another example would be Japanese castles. Unlike Europe,
Japan began its feudal period from 1100 to 1800,
just a few years apart from Europe. These are Japanese castle
designs in their feudal period. They are similar in patterns
but different in styles.

This is pretty much everything I know about this sort of
topic. There is some other interesting info, but I hope that's enought.
If I remember anything else I will be writting here to help you!

Cathedral, colosseum, arena, horse racing track, palace, buildings for specific 1.14 blocks (e.g: "stonecutter's house"), library, enchanter's tower, mining facility/quarry, dock area, landmarks (e.g: special statue).

These are just some examples, I hope it helps :)

And if you're going to upload it to PMC, maybe add a few hidden treasures, easter eggs, or something else? That would be cool!
