Shadow of Israphel adventure map
Hello! I have been planning a Shadow of Israphel adventure map for quite some time! I am a big fan and I think I could do it liberty.
Shadow of Israphel is a minecraft series by Simon and Lewis of the Yogscast. I want to recreate their adventure so that other people can play through it.
What I initially planned was to build a similar map (all places named the same, and similar to the series' map) but with improvements such as nicer buildings, bigger cities, better landscape, and some other details added. However, the quests and story line would be the same!
If people were interested, could they please help me answer a few questions?
1. Should the map be the exact same? Or should I do as I explained above?
2. Should I use Command blocks? Or Custom NPCs mod?
3. How likely is it that you would play this?

Wow, thanks a lot, now I wanna watch the entire series again!!!

Omg, I loved that series when it came out.
1. EXACT SAME!!! I'm sure everyone who's reading this (except some peeps, I'm looking at you Grumpy Cat) loved watching them do their custom adventure map and probably searched the net looking for it. If you do this the exact same (or as close to anyway) it'll be like heaven for me and others.
2. Yeah, command blocks would be universal (As Refined_Malachite said) but Custom NPCs would get the player more in depth of the story line, while command blocks can guide things along smoothly. So my answer to that is both. If you just used command blocks how would you get the pumpkin on colored wool with fence arms (most "players" in adventure maps) move around? And how would you have a conversation with it? Basically what I'm saying is Custom NPCs are the characters and chat systems, while command blocks control the redstone parts and anything Custom NPCs CAN'T do.
3. Likeliness of my playing this out of 100: 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
I rest my case. Oh and btw, that map makes everything so exact so far.

So I've finished the yogcave, the pyramid, mini stonehenge, portal, and the bridge/road to terrorvale. This is the current screenshot. It is NOT exact 1:1 scale of the series, but it is as close as I can get it with what I have.
So tell me what you think of it. I will be ready to post a project with terrorvale completed in a few days.

So I've agreed with all of you, keeping it the same would probably be better. I'm working on the landscape right now and have finished most of the landscape for the yogcave and Terrorvale.

Hm...
I think I'd want it the same for reasons unknown.
I think command blocks would be more universal for players and less of a hassle.
And if it came out nicely I'd play it.

Hmmm this seems interesting!
1. I want it to be the same
2. Mixed. Whatever you want.
3. 100%

Lexigall123456I have a few questions, actually.
Isn't 'Shadow of Israphel' an adventure map itself?
Shadow of Israphel was a map built for Simon and Lewis to play through. I don't think there is a current adventure map for everyone to play. The replica project isn't actually an adventure map, more of a showcase.

Do you think it should be changed?
The first reason I wanted to build this was because I wanted to see the map, but with my own buildings in it. Then after building stoneholm, I thought about maybe making an entire adventure map with it!

If the story line and quests were the same, wouldn't it be more enjoyable being played without any upgrades?
Probably, and that is always a possibility. It would be more difficult to replicate it, but I could do it.

1. I think the map should stay the same.
2. Both.
3. I think I would play it.

Oh and by the way, this is the type of difference I mean with "nicer buildings, bigger cities, better landscape and some other details added"
Keep in mind Terrorvale is not yet finished.
