Been working on Opla Manerda for a bit and the next update is gonna be nice and ominous. Like your in a place your not supposed to be in. I'm wondering if anyone has ideas on what kind of things convey that vibe. Like going outside at nighttime for example.

you can make a redstone clock to on/off redstones lamps to give the impression of blinking

Maybe do something with redstone to make some of the lights flicker? And in general less lighting with some areas fully dark/ almost fully dark.

As one idea, limit the amount of light there is in the room. This can be used to make the players feel like they're sneaking through an unknown place. If the place wanted people to be there, it would try to be more welcoming.

Soul torches/lanterns

use skulk blocks as well, just in the floor under some sort of vine or glowing moss thingy, it gives off dark light
