Soo... some context: lately i've been working on a map about resident evil aaand
im trying to be as close to the real game as possible... that's when your help comes in
there is a part in the game that you have to go crawling through the top of a cellar,
and i want to do it with command blocks.
What i need is that when the player gets on a certain xyz location to crawl automatically.
here's a video for reference: https://youtu.be/P1TLuKWSA0g?t=970
I tried with the "/execute" command, but i've got no idea how this new command works
so i didnt make it work
any help or advice will be extremely apreciated!!!
Thank you for reading! :)

im not a command block expert, but if youre willing to forgo the /execute command and are willing to use a pressure plate i have a rather simple solution; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36jsZagJqZ0

You do not need a pressure plate for that. You can simply do:
/execute as @a[x=<x_cords>,y=<y_cords>,z=<z_cords>,distance=..2] at @s run setblock ~ ~1 ~ <block>
