in a world I am trying to make a VERY large area (1000x200) a reset able area. and i want to use commands to make the area reset when the player dies. but the /clone command would require hundreds of command blocks to do that. is there a way to do that possibly using a data pack?

in short yes, data packs basically are command blocks and can run commands like that after they are triggered using a trigger command,

the only thing is you would have to be constantly testing it with command blocks first then putting the command in the pack meaning there is quite a lot of work, about the same as if you had placed each command block,

but the good thing is a data pack doesn't require a loaded chunk to be able to run like command blocks and Redstone.
