Quality of Life [QoL] or otherwise playabilty packs e.g. directional redstone componnets like Directionally Apparent Dispensers or Improved Directional Glazed Magenta Terracotta
Although, packs that simply improve the look of the game (very much a YMMV criterion) have a place e.g. Reanimated Portals or Jacaranda Spiders & Items
All of the above may fall under niche (or possibly artistic) as I'm unclear as to how you are defining the terms….
