Before Paiyu executed her attack, Jack commanded his Incineroar to take down the opposing Lucario with a Cross Chop. The Fire-Dark type rushed forward with arms crossed, roaring as he struck the Aura Pokemon with a super-effective attack that sent it reeling. The collapsed Fighting-Steel type was enveloped in a red stream of light as Khan, seething with anger, returned it to its Pokeball. Then Paiyu attacked next ((previous post of mine)) Even though Juniper's attack hit the Manectric hard, it wasn't enough to bring its HP below the midpoint. Paiyu still congratulated her faithful Dartrix, though, for bringing them one step closer to victory against Khan. However, her hope was blown away by the Salamence that emerged from a hidden Pokeball Khan possessed.
Eli piped up, declaring that Khan was a cheat for summoning a fourth Pokemon in a triple battle. Although Paiyu was not very familiar with the rules of a Triple Battle, she knew that the green girl had enough with their opponent and needed some sort of payback, especially for what Khan had done to the poor Lugia. The peridot girl went over to Jack and whispered something to him, but it was hard to make out what she was talking about. A new strategy? Revenge? Or something else entirely? After that, she squeaked out a command to her Lugia to use Extrasensory, though with an odd, almost mischievious tone.
The Diving Pokemon's eyes glowed blue as it began concentrating its power. Paiyu covered her ears for the massive psychic blast to come blow away Khan's whole team, but, strangely, that did not happen. Instead, the enemy Mega Manectric was enveloped in the blue energy, floating it up, up into the air as the transfixed trainer watched on. The energy seemed to be doing something to the Discharge Pokemon's lightning-bolt mane, too: smoothing the spikes down into a rounded shape... a sausage shape. Paiyu choked back a wheeze of laughter as she watched her green friend snap pictures of the intimidating-turned-hilarious Electric type, then command her Legendary to throw it back down. The Manectric yelped as it crashed to the ground, suffering quite a bit of damage. Eli congratulated her Legendary friend for pulling such an amazing prank for revenge, then turned to Paiyu to notify her that the Manectric was almost down, and that Paiyu could deal the finishing blow. "Yes! We can do this!" the trainer replied, exhilarated at what was yet to come.
It was Jack's turn again. He commanded his Incineroar to use Outrage. Snarling furiously, with eyes glowing red, the Heel Pokemon bolted toward Khan's Salamence and struck it down. The Dragon Pokemon, could barely get up after the attack, Dang! That Salamence must be on 1 HP or something now, Paiyu thought. The boy then signaled to her to begin her attack. She already knew that she was going to take down the Manectric once and for all. Juniper the Dartrix turned her head back to listen for her trainer's order, then took off at once after the girl spoke it, loud and clear. The Blade Quill Pokemon, wings surrounded with turquoise energy, swooped down to slice the Electric type with her honed leaf-quills, once, twice, three times, then landed back in front of her trainer, who cheered as the Manectric fell.

"Come on, Incineroar! USE OUTRAGE ON SALAMENCE!!!!!" Jack said as Incineroar's eyes turned dark blue and the Pokemon charged towards Salamence, dealing a ton of damage. This left Salamence with 13 HP. "Salllllll," groaned Salamence as he struggled to fly. "Alright, Paiyu! Go ahead!" said Jack.

Even though Eli felt like all hope was lost for her legendary friend, Paiyu reassured her that they can and will win the fight. The green girl cried tears of joy, knowing that Paiyu's got her back. "Wow," she sniffled. "Thanks, Paiyu! I knew I could count on you." She ran up to the young trainer and gave her a quick hug before running back to her battle spot. Before Eli commanded her Lugia to use recover, Jack's Incineroar instantly fainted Khan's Lucario with a powerful Cross Chop. "Aw yeah!" Eli jumped for joy with a big smile on her face. "We're on fire right now! There's only one more Pokemon to defeat, and that's Manectric!" Khan couldn't believe his eyes. He never would've thought he would actually lose to Jack and his gang of misfits. As a response to his near-defeat, he threw a hissy fit, questioning why this was happening to him. And so, it was Paiyu's turn once again, and told Juniper to use Leaf Blade on Manectric. As she watched the minty owl Pokemon using one of it's signature moves, Eli blushed with happiness knowing the battle was in their favor. The grassy move did a nifty amount of damage, but it was not enough to make it faint. On an HP checker, Manectric's health would be fully yellow closer to the green side of the bar. Now that it was her turn, Eli quickly told Lugia to use recover for turn. Khan, of course, was not happy with how the battle was going. Little did Eli know that Jack's rival was going to send out an extra Pokemon, which turned out to be Salamence.

What!?
She thought with a grumpy look on her face. That's no fair! He's using four Pokemon in a triple battle! I could've switched Lugia out with Goelm if that's the case! He's a cheater! Because of such a heinous act, Eli glanced up at Khan from afar and scolded him with a sneer. "Boo!" She squeaked at him with a grumpy tone on her face. "You're such a cloddy cheater! You're using four Pokemon in a triple battle! That's like saying you want to fight one on one with battling tops and then suddenly throwing out another one to throw your opponent off!" Eli turned to the left and crossed her arms with disappointment. She turned her head towards Khan and gave him a menacing stare, eyes narrowed. "Your cheating disgusts me." She growled. Because of this, Eli became impatient and wanted to go first to him a piece of his mind. To do this, she had to let Jack know what she was about to do, since he normally went first against Khan. "Hey Jack," She warned her friend. "I'm going to go first if you don't mind, because now I see why you hate this guy so much. He's a gosh dang cheating clod, and I'm going to give him a lesson in fair-play." Now that Eli gave Jack the spiel on what she thought, it was time for her to go first. In a flash, she told Lugia what move to use on Manectric. "Lugia," She commanded the legendary with her cute high-pitched voice. "Use your Extrasensory move on that Manectric and give him the payback he deserves" The pink and white sea bird Pokemon her it's tiny green trainer's order's loud and clear, giving the Manectric a menacing stare on what it was about to do with it.

Lugia's eyes started turning blue as it thought of what hilarious revenge prank to pull on the mega Pokemon. Suddenly, Mega Manectric's bolt-like mane was slowly being manipulated by Lugia's psychic aura to look like a hot dog. The mysterious blue energy then floated the electric dog Pokemon up in the air for everyone to see it's ridiculous new fur outfit, including Khan himself. From this hilarious display, Eli began to hysterically laugh at the costume, which resulted in her to fall over and roll on the ground with laughter. "Stop it," she giggled. "Stop it! This is too hilarious! If I laugh any harder, I might shatter! Plus, I'm most definitely going to take a picture of this and put it on Planet Pidgey. This needs to be pidgied!" She quickly got out her rPhone and took a few pictures of the embarrassed-looking mega Pokemon hastily before stashing it away in her oversized labcoat pocket for later. "Okay," Eli commanded, settling down her laughter as she did so. "You can throw him on the ground now. I'm done taking pictures." So Lugia did as followed and with it's Extrasensory powers, threw the Manectric on the ground. This resulted in a decent amount of damage, leaving it with only a little bit of HP left. However, this throwdown also reverted Mega Manectric's costume back to it's bolt-like shape. "Aw yeah!" Eli jumped for joy. "Great job, Lugia! Also, that was such a groovy prank you just pulled off, there! I'm so proud of you!" The pink and white legendary blushed at Eli's comment, giving a quiet purr before it braced itself for yet another painful thunder attack. The green girl stared at the Mega Pokemon and discovered that it looked weak enough for Paiyu's Dartrix to finally faint. "Hey Paiyu," she whispered to the young trainer as Jack went for his turn. "Now's our chance to obliterate this Manectric together! Choose your moves wisely!" And so, she patiently waited and kept her senses heightened for what would happen next.

"All right, Incineroar. Use Cross Chop on Lucario!" Jack commanded. "INCINEROAR!!!" Incineroar cried as he leaped forward and karate-chopped Lucario. Lucario, after a few seconds, realized Cross Chop was a Fighting-type move, and Steel is weak to Fighting. Lucario became dizzy and eventually fell to the ground and returned to its Pokeball with a red stream of light. "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?" Khan screamed. But Jack knew they still had 2 - not one, but 2 - Pokemon to defeat. Khan pulled out the Pokeball hidden behind his back and commanded, "GO! SALAMENCE!" A white beam erupted from the Pokeball and out came a Salamence. Uh-oh, Jack thought. Actually, this is good! The only thing Incineroar's Outrage is strong against is Dragon type, and Salamence is a Dragon-Flying type! I'll use Outrage on him.

One down, two to go, Paiyu told herself as the Hitmonlee fell after an Extrasensory from Lugia. Khan, on the other hand, cried out with rage and yelled out a command at his Manectric: not to attack, but rather, Mega evolve. Before the girl could react, the Electric-type's spiky yellow fur began to grow, until it formed a bolt-shaped mane that covered the Pokemon's whole back as its mouth pulled back in a snarl, twenty times as intimidating than before. The Discharge Pokemon howled with fury as Khan commanded it to use Thunder, and immediately crackling bolts struck the trainer trio's Pokemon. Incineroar and Juniper seemed to have taken quite a bit of damage, but that didn't compare to Eli's Lugia, who wailed in pain as the bolts hit. For Paiyu, it seemed like a thunderbolt had struck her heart too as she watched her green friend, on the verge of tears, cry out for her beloved Legendary to stay alive. The peridot girl turned to Paiyu and Jack, declaring that they needed a strategy to take down the Manectric and save Lugia. "I'll hit 'em with all I have. We can do this, and we will do this!" Paiyu replied, filled with determination. "Now use Leaf Blade!" she commanded Juniper. The shiny Dartrix flew up with a shriek, then plunged into a nosedive, green quills glowing, straight toward the Electric-type. When she was inches away from the Mega Manectric, Juniper spread her wings and sliced it with the sharpened feather-leaves. As Paiyu's attack was executed, Eli used her turn to have Lugia heal itself with Recover. The Dartrix then landed back at her spot, glaring at the opposing side with narrowed eyes.

The battle seemed to be going well at first, but all of a sudden, Eli noticed a strange mega stone strapped to Manectric, which started to glow once Khan shouted, "Manectric! Mega evolve!!" A sweat of fear rolled down Eli's face. Oh crud! She thought with fear. I knew I should have used Golem instead! Who knows how much pain Lugia will be in from it's next attack! From the mega stone, Manectric's appearance changed drastically. It's body was shaped like a lightning bolt, almost like it was wearing a Halloween costume. It looked slightly annoyed, not because of the stupid look, but from the amount of electricity it's body has to handle. Eli gave a little bit of a giggle from Mega Manectric's stupid bolt-like outfit, but settled herself down knowing her Lugia was going to get screwed.

As a matter of fact, she was right. While the others didn't take as much damage, the pink and white legendary yowled in pain from it being weak to electric type moves. The shocking amount of damage Lugia took didn't make it faint at all, but just like Incineroar did, it had a quarter of it's HP left. This also gave Eli an aftermath of empathetic damage, since she was overly attached to her Pokemon like they were her friends. "LUGIA!!" She squeaked tearfully at the top of her lungs. The poor legendary was barely hanging on, but still awaited orders from it's trainer. In response this massive blow, Eli became saddened at the sight of her Pokemon friend almost dying. Yeah, she knew Lugia would just faint and she could give it a Revival Herb, but she still called it 'dying' just because they were still her friends. She clenched her tiny fists in rage, ready for some type of revenge tactic with raging tears in her eyes. "Everybody," She angrily muttered to her friends. "We have to team up and destroy that Mega Manectric. It's the only way Lugia won't be killed off by that thing. In a way, it could also help out your Incineroar, who also seems badly damaged. Now let's get to it and beat Khan once and for all!" And so, once it became Eli's turn, she decided to stall it out and heal up Lugia until he seemed ready to take revenge on Mega Manectric, though Khan didn't know what she was about to pull off. "Lugia!" She shouted to the pink and white legendary. "Quick! Use Recover!" Even though it seemed weakened, the shiny Lugia gave it's trainer a smile and knew she was onto something. It threw a bunch of refreshing sparkles all around it's body, which gave it an okay amount of health. On a health checker, it's HP would've gone from yellow to green, though it's HP wouldn't be entirely full, however.

Before anyone made a move, Khan hid a Pokeball behind his back, and only Jack noticed. He didn't say anything, however. "ARGH!" Khan groaned as Hitmonchan's limp body fell to the ground and returned to the Pokeball with a red-white light. "MANECTRIC! MEGA-EVOLVE!" Khan yelled as he took out a yellow-red-blue stone. Jack, Eli, and Paiyu noticed a Key Stone on a string around Manectric's neck. It started to glow as power flowed from the multi-colored ball to the Key Stone. "Uh-oh," Jack said. Before he knew it, Manectric was covered in electric yellow plates. "NOW! USE THUNDER!" Khan yelled to his newly-evolved Pokemon. "MANEEEEC!" Manectric cried as the yellow plates shifted around. Eventually, the Discharge Pokemon created a dark grey cloud in the air. It struck a couple bolts on Lugia, then on Juniper, and finally on Incineroar. The Pokemon all took little damage, except for Lugia, which was a Psychic-Flying type, and Flying was weak to Electric. "LUUU!" Lugia groaned in pain.

Despite Eli's somewhat-intimidatingly epic entrance, Khan wasn't fazed at all and used his Lucario to hit Jack's Inciniroar with a painful Bone Rush. So much for intimidation. She thought with a disappointed sigh. But there was no time to mope as the epic battle continued right before her very eyes. It was Paiyu's turn, and she told Juniper to attack the Hitmonchan with it's Aerial Ace. The resulting hit was painful to the Hitmonchan, who was struggling to keep it's balance after the attack. Hmm, Eli analyzed the situation in front of her. I bet if I took down this Hitmonchan, we could take out one annoying fighter Pokemon with two stones! Then, it was all down to Eli, the one who could make or break this fight. Sure, everyone had their role in this fight, but she didn't want to suck the situation up even further. After giving Paiyu an encouraging cheer of, "Aw, yeah! That was awesome!", the green girl was ready for the attack. "Alright, Lugia," she squeaked a command at the legendary, pointing her labcoat sleeve-covered finger at the Hitmonchan as she said her sentence. "Hit 'em with your Extrasensory attack!" The pink and white legendary understood the small scientist's order loud and clear as it's eyes glowed blue at the Hitmonchan below it. It gave off a menacing stare, focusing it's psychic energy onto the fighting Pokemon. Suddenly, the boxing Pokemon was flown up into the air with a strange psychic energy surrounding it and got smacked down onto the ground. From two whole super effective moves killing it at once, the Hitmonchan had swirls in it's eyes, signifying this Pokemon had fainted. "Aw yeah!" Eli jumped up with a fist in the air, showing a sheer amount of excitement. "We did it, guys! That Hitmonchan is unable to battle! One down, two more to go!" But there was no time to celebrate, as Khan's two Pokemon looked ready to beat the crap out of the opposing team. The green girl looked sharp, keeping a good watch to see which one of Khan's Pokemon would attack whom.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Paiyu called after her green friend who was running off into the forest behind them. The peridot girl replied that she was going to pull off an "epic entrance." The trainer turned back to the battle scene, carefully analyzing her opponent's Pokemon. Yup, Juniper was the right choice here. Paiyu didn't know, however, who would go first. As she pondered about this, a great Pokemon swooped down from the sky, landing with an impact not unlike that of a meteorite. The Lugia lifted its head and sounded a powerful roar as Eli casually hopped down from its back, introducing herself with a hint of menace in her voice.

Khan did not seem intimidated by the Legendary, however, and confidently commanded his Lucario to hit Jack's Incineroar with a Bone Rush. A bone club materialized in the Aura Pokemon's paws, and the Fighting-Steel type launched himself at the Incineroar with a howl, and struck him twice. The Ground-type attack had hurt the Fire-Dark type quite a lot, but he still stood up and roared at his opponent as Jack told him to use Flamethrower. A stream of fire blasted from the Pokemon's belt of flames and engulfed the opposing Lucario, who seemed have taken a lot of damage from the super-effective attack. Jack then turned to Paiyu, indicating that it was her turn to attack. By now, Paiyu had calculated the type weaknesses of all three Pokemon, and the one Juniper should attack was Hitmonchan. "Juniper, use Aerial Ace on the Hitmonchan!" she cried out. "Triiiix!" the Pokemon screeched as she flew high with a flap of her wings, then dove down, surrounded with glowing blue streaks of energy. She built up so much speed that she was nothing but a blur when she slammed into Khan's Hitmonchan, once, then twice, with some energy streaks flying out and hitting his other Pokemon, though the damage they dealt was negligible. The Blade Quill Pokemon then landed in front of her trainer with a trill as Paiyu exclaimed, "That's it! I knew you could do it!" They then waited for Eli to make her move.

Despite Eli's cool attempt at an intimidating entrance, Khan wasn't scared. He decided to go first. "Lucario, use Bone Rush on Incineroar!" "Luuuuuuu... CARRRIOOOOOO!!!" Lucario yelled as he whacked Incineroar with his gigantic bone. It was super effective. Incineroar lost a quarter of all of his HP. Jack said, "Whatever. Use Flamethrower on Lucario!" "Incineroar!" Incineroar cried as the hot beam erupted from his belt charm. "Your move, Paiyu!" Jack said.

Eli sat next to her friend in boredom, still keeping that grumpy expression on her face. She was getting sick and tired of the constant bickering Jack and his rival were yapping on about. From the looks of it, there was nothing she could do to turn the tides. All was lost, but suddenly, Jack initiated a triple battle with Khan and did something unexpected: He signaled his friends to join. Looking at the situation, Eli noticed that her friend's rival sported a Lucario, Hitmonchan, and a Manectric. She stared at the Pokemon, trying to find some type of weakness to their typing and what cool entrance she could pull off. Okay, she pondered. If Lucario and Hitmonchan are both fighting types, maybe I could use Lugia's extrasensory to kill them off. But wait! Golem could also work because Manectric and Lucario are weak to him, but he's only used for competitive battles because of his Stealth Rocks! Though, I also want to come into battle through a cool entrance, so which one could possibly- But before she could fully analyze the entire battle, Paiyu attempted to motion the green girl into battle, saying this was her chance to shine. "Oh," Eli replied while getting herself up. "Sorry about that! I was just taking some time to find this guy's weak points and figure out a cool way to enter the battle! That's all!" She grabbed Lugia's Pokeball out of her oversized labcoat pocket while saying "Speaking of which" and threw it right out behind a few sets of trees that Khan wouldn't notice. "I'll be back, Paiyu! I'm just going to pull off a cool entrance so this guy feels a little bit intimidated from me, despite my small appearance." She gave a thumbs up to her friend from one of her labcoat-covered sleeves and ran off to her legendary Pokemon.

She climbed right onto it and whispered into it's ear, "Okay, Lugia. It's battle time! You know what to do." In a flash, Lugia flew off into the sky, hovering just above the trees where the battle was going on and prepared for an epic dive-bomb. Eli played some awesome music from her rPhone at max volume, placing it into one of her oversized labcoat pockets, and gave Lugia a thumbs up that she was ready for the epic entrance. It flew straight down onto an empty space and performed an awesome dive-bomb. It's wings flapped slowly in a majestic manner while it was on the ground, looking pumped and ready for battle as shown by it's prideful glare in it's eyes. Khan looked slightly confused on where the shiny Lugia came from, but Eli hopped right off of the giant beast, still stumbling from the fall before gaining her balance. Although she was obviously shorter than Khan, the green girl gave off an intimidating glare that showed no fear in her eyes. She knew that she wouldn't let her cowardly Peridot instincts overtake her this time, especially if it involved a Pokemon fight like this. "The name's Eli," she attempted to be a real bad-mudbray, even though her squeaky high-pitched Peridot voice would ruin it. "And I'm not going to let you hurt my friends at all!" Eli ran to the back of Lugia, ready to give off a command to the legendary Pokemon while she growled at her opponent. Though, she didn't know whether or not Khan was going to strike first, so she waited patiently for one of her friends to go at him.

The altercation between Jack and the other boy, Khan, had not ended yet, and that made Paiyu worried. How could she help her old-turned-new friend without getting into too much trouble? But before she could think something up, Jack yelled "Let's settle this with a battle then! Go, Incineroar!" as he released the Fire-Dark-type. His adversary summoned his own Pokemon: a Lucario, a Manectric, and a Hitmonchan. Immediately, the trainer noticed there was something wrong: no side was to outnumber the other in a Trainer battle, and Khan's did. Oddly, Jack did not call on his other Pokemon, but instead turned toward the girls and motioned for them to enter the battle with him. Holy Magikarp! I've never been in a Triple Battle before! This is gonna be awesome! the excited Paiyu thought as she reached for her Pokeballs. "Go, Juniper! You can do this!" she exclaimed as the Pokeball clicked open and the Dartrix appeared, flapping down to the ground and chirping inquisitively, waiting for her trainer's instruction. Paiyu looked back and called to her green friend, "What are you waiting for? Here's your chance!"

Eventually, Jack and Khan stopped fighting. Then Jack declared a Trainer Battle! Even better, a Triple Battle! Khan sent out 3 Pokemon: Manectric, Lucario, and Hitmonchan. Jack sent out his Incineroar, then motioned for the others to join.

"No idea who this guy is. I guess everybody has their Melvin..." Paiyu told her friend, who seemed frustrated that she couldn't help Jack in this situation as they watched the two boys keep arguing. "Well, you're not alone. Even though I love to assist my friends as well, sometimes it's just not the right time and place to do so. I've tried to break up arguments a few times before, but they all ended up getting worse because of me." Eli then went on about how she was tired of being in the sidelines, and wanted to be in the action to help her friends, not caring about the consequences, and then ran off towards Jack and Khan. "No! Come back!" the trainer called after her friend, knowing that things had already gotten very intense over there. Weirdly, the green girl came stomping back, curling up beside Paiyu as she muttered about her instincts.

Jack had finally responded to Eli's reply, but something was still off. When he mentioned the phrase, "that's all," an expression of lies came up on his face. As a member of the Aether Foundation, Eli had to learn what particular faces equaled 'lying' and what wasn't, and thinking back to those courses, that was one of them. Hmm, she thought to herself with doubt. If he were to have one of those weird dreams like I did last night, what could it possibly be about? I need to know more! But it was too late to ask him any further, as drops of cloud dew began to form on Eli's labcoat. She revealed her right tiny green hand and picked up one of the newly formed dewdrops with her finger, giving it a quick lick to see what kind of storm they were up against. Great, she noticed what type of dew it was. We've got ourselves an old-fashioned windstorm. As Lugia traveled farther and farther into the stormy clouds, the wind blew stronger and stronger. Thankfully, there was no thunder to avoid, but the terrain they had to face was still rough. "Everybody!" She warned everyone. "Brace yourselves! The terrain's gonna get a little bit windy, so grab a scute and hold on tight!" The storm was at it's peak when everyone held onto Lugia tightly. Even though Eli was well-prepared for the rough winds, one of her tiny green hands that held on slipped and she flew off the pink and white legendary. All hope was lost, but thankfully, she still had Lugia's tail to hold on. It vigorously swished during the windstorm, and she was holding on with all her might. "Why does this always happen to me!?" she squeaked in fear, saying word by word every time the legendary's tail moved downwards. Her Lugia wasn't impressed with the interference of sunny weather, so it found a nice spot to land in the Soras region and flapped it's wings violently to get rid of the storm.

Once they landed, the windstorm suddenly went away, with Eli's friends having no idea how it went away, even though it was thanks to Lugia. Feeling nauseous, the green girl climbed up Lugia's tail and peeked off the edge of it's back to vomit out rainbows. Her dizziness wore off after a while and her friends got off without being fazed. Now that she was cured of her turbulence problems, she got off of Lugia's back, surprisingly sticking the landing instead of falling face first like she always did. Yeah, she stumbled a bit before regaining her balance, but this was new for her. I guess I'm getting used to this tiny body after all. She thought to herself. It's strangely feeling more... Normal, to me. Before she could take a single step, however, a strange man popped out of the bushes. His attitude towards Jack seemed so smug, almost like it was similar to how Melvin behaved. Eli had no idea who he was, but since she was standing near Jack, she heard an angry muster of "Khan!" She gave off a smirk at first, since this reminded her of a scene from a movie that was similar to Star Wars, but the joking grin slowly went away as the two were arguing with each-other. "Khan?" She tried to tell Jack with her high-pitched voice. "Who the heck's Khan?" But unfortunately, they were still bickering with one another and Paiyu signaled Eli to get back. She eventually gave in and went over to her friend with a grumpy expression on her face. "Ugh," she muttered. "I hate it when people aren't able to notice me because I'm this small." Eli sat next to her still-standing friend, keeping that angered look as she watched them duke it out with words. She hated how she couldn't do anything to help them out now that she was confident enough to face baddies as a tiny Peridot. Mimikyu, who was still on it's trainer's shoulder, made a few worried yet cute 'Kyu' noises to ask what's wrong. "I don't know," she coldly replied. "I want to help my buddy out, but I'm stuck having to sit on the sidelines because I'm... Well... Short."

Eli gave off a sigh of disappointment and wrapped one of her arms around Paiyu's leg. But the thought of saving her friend still twinged at her mind. Adrenaline pumped through her tiny body to get her to help her friend, but Eli didn't want to give into yet another Peridot instinct. She had to help her friend out, because of Paiyu could help her out with Melvin, why shouldn't she with Khan? A few minutes later, she couldn't take anymore waiting and got herself up with a growl to tell her friend how she felt. "Paiyu," she squeaked in angered determination to her friend. "I'm sick and tired of always getting stuck on the back-burner because of my Peridot instincts or that I'm too 'short' to do anything. I need to help Jack out, because that's what true friends are for. I don't care what's going on with them or what might happen to me. I just want to contribute, and if you were able to help me out with Melvin, what's stopping me from dealing with this guy?" She ran off aggressively to help her friend out with whatever situation they were dealing with, but it turns out there was a Pokemon battle going on. "Oh for fluff's sake!" She grumbled in rage. Eli angrily stamped back to her friend, mumbling out a few agitated squeaks before sitting next to her friend in a ball-like position. "Well," she sighed. "I guess my stupid instincts sent me running out at the wrong time. Maybe when they're actually in danger, I'll help them, I guess." And so, Eli waited for the perfect time to help out, albeit a bit impatiently, to see what she could do.

"Oh. I understand where you're going. I've ridden Ee sometimes, and he's never snapped, but... he might. He might." Paiyu nodded her head in agreement with Eli's advice. Soon, Jack joined them, and all three walked out the door and down to the lobby. They bade farewell to Professor Hastings as they exited the building to find their Pokemon. Paiyu returned hers to their respective Pokeballs and mounted Eli's Lugia after her friends. Making sure no one had been forgotten, the Diving Pokemon took off.

As they flew, Paiyu admired the view below: verdant forests, then bright beaches, and finally sapphire seas. The sound of whistling wind and Lugia's booming wingbeats had an oddly calming effect on the trainer. She looked at her friends: Eli, bringing her fist down upon some invisible thing, as if trying to crush it, over and over like in some kind of game; and Jack, looking around, seemingly nervous about something that gnawed at his mind. Paiyu wondered if he, too, had been haunted by a strange, repetitive nightmare. She wanted to ask, but again, she wasn't too familiar with the boy, and so saved that for later.

It was some time later that Paiyu could spot the coast of Soras below. The wind seemed to have gotten stronger, though, and soon it became so strong that the trainers had to grab tight onto Lugia's back scutes to avoid getting blown away. The Legendary, however, soared on, eventually circling down to land. Once they were back on the ground, however, the strong, chilling winds had faded to a soothing breeze. Must have been a jet stream or something.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a stranger that leapt out of a nearby bush. Before she could ask who he was, Jack spoke up. And judging by his tone, he did not like this guy. Was he an old enemy of Jack's, like Melvin was to Eli? What horrible thing could he have done? Paiyu backed away from the two boys, who were now yelling at each other, and signaled to her green friend to do so as well.

"Oh, it's nothing. I just had a weird dream, that's all," Jack replied. But that wasn't all. He was worried that Moltres and Articuno would steal the Zapdos without him knowing! He had to be ready for anything they might do. I should get a PokeTracker, Jack thought. That would probably help me a lot.

The flight was long and hard. Jack, Eli, and Paiyu all struggled to hold on because of a sudden windstorm. When they finally landed, the storm passed away. But just then, someone jumped out from the bushes. Jack, and only Jack, recognized him. He was Khan, Jack's #1 enemy. I thought he was in jail! Jack thought. He must be defeated! AND THE DEFEATER WILL BE ME! Jack was angry because Khan had beaten him in a flyting and used good insults. Anytime Jack heard 'Khan,' he got angrier, and angrier, and angrier. "Khan," Jack muttered, fists clenched, one hand in Pokeball pocket. "Ah, Jack! What a pleasent surprise! Good to see you. Say, how long has it been since I escaped? Oh, right! 18 months! It's been so long," said Khan. "HOW DID YOU ESCAPE?" yelled Jack. "Why would I tell... you?" asked Khan, pointing at Jack. "I DON'T KNOW! MAYBE BECAUSE YOU'RE SO NICE AND SO GENEROUS!" Jack yelled back.

Eli sat on the king sized bed, waiting patiently as she looked at a bunch of memes on her rPhone. Paiyu was in the bathroom getting herself ready while Jack was still getting up. The green girl after a while stopped looking at memes and placed her rPhone in her pocket. She decided to straighten out her dorito-like hair a little on the bed, even though there were no mirrors to be found. While she was fixing her hair, however, a worried comment from Jack about Zapdos' whereabouts gave the tiny scientist a twinge of shock and looked back at him. "Huh?" she questioned her friend. "What do you mean, you lost Zapdos? Big Pokemon normally have to stay outside the building, like my Lugia for example!" But then, Jack became reassured, knowing his yellow legendary bird Pokemon was just outside stretching his wings and replied to Eli with a stuttered-out, "Nevermind." Sure, something like this wouldn't normally make Eli worried, but the way her friend spoke those sentences gave her concern. That's strange, she thought to herself. How come Jack's acting like that about Zapdos? He never gave a sign of concern for it when we were flying to the Alima HQ, so what gives? She thought a little bit about asking her Ace Trainer friend about his sudden concern for Zapdos, but she turned back around to fix her hair, knowing they've still got a big day ahead of themselves. Eh, she thought with a shrug. I'll go ask him about it later when we get onto Lugia. Just then, Paiyu emerged from the bathroom, looking somewhat hyped to go back home. The young trainer asked the green girl whether they should use Lugia or their specific flying-types to get back to Soras. "Well," Eli replied. "I think it's best that we all should ride on Lugia. I mean, Zapdos got really tired after carrying all of us and Eedee'em might flip out and knock you into the ocean, even with the soothe bell on him, so that's why we should all ride on Lugia instead to get back." After getting her hair fixed up, the green girl eventually shoved herself off the bed to open the door, with Mimikyu jumping onto it's trainer's shoulder to implant itself from falling off. Now that everyone was ready, the gang had quietly walked down the hall to leave the Alima HQ. Stuck in the middle, Eli glanced up at the two trainers with a jealous look in her eyes. She remembered being so tall, so menacing to those who would dare to mock her or the friends she made. But now as a Peridot, she couldn't be the least bit intimidating and was forced to glance up at somebody in order to simply talk to them. The green girl looked down at the ground and sighed, knowing there was no way to wipe the awful feelings of being a Peridot from her mind.

Before the could exit the door, however, a "Going so soon?" came out from Professor Hastings, who gazed at the two trainers from the far end of the building. "Yeah," Eli squeaked loudly from afar. "We're heading back to Soras if you don't mind. If you ever stop by at the Ranger Base in Vientown, just give one of the operators this!" She reached into her pocket to find the room keys for their temporary room and threw it across the room to her childhood hero. Even though he was old, Hastings was still able to catch the keys from a thrown distance. "Well, then. Safe travels, my friends!" The green girl's hero bid his farewells. "Thanks! I'm glad I got to meet you, Professor Hastings! We'll visit you someday soon!" Eli replied back while waving ecstatically to her hero. The automatic doors to the headquarters opened as the tiny scientist felt the warm yet somewhat chill breeze on her face. She looked around the building to find Lugia, where it was sitting there with a hyped smirk on it's face to go off flying again. "Come on, guys!" Eli gleefully shouted out with her high-pitched voice, climbing onto her pink and white Lugia as she was doing so. "Hop right on! There's plenty of room for us to sit!" She got herself into a nice position on her legendary bird's back and waited for her friends to get on as well. Now that everyone was on, the green girl whistled for any of her remaining Pokemon to come forth and return to their Pokeballs. One by one, every one of Eli's Pokemon was sent to their ball-shaped home, but Crimson the Silvally was too reluctant because it felt so free while it was away from human contact. "Come on, Crimson!" She told her silver four-legged Pokemon. "Look, I know it's saddening to leave such a great place, but we will come back in the future, I promise!" She fed her noble steed an Oran Berry from one of her oversized labcoat pockets on Lugia's back and it finally felt a little more comfortable to go back into it's Pokeball, albeit with a grumpy tone on it's face. Now that everyone had their Pokemon in their Pokeballs, including the green girl's friends, she told her legendary Pokemon that everyone was ready for takeoff. Lugia flew into the air, keeping it's excited grin as it took to the skies to find it's way back to Soras.

It was a decently long flight to Soras, and everyone was sitting on Lugia's back. To kill some time, Eli playfully 'squished' some trees below with her hidden tiny green fist and pretended to be Godzilla before Lugia made it's away above the clear blue oceans. Now that there was no trees in sight, the green girl got bored quite quickly and stared at some memes on her rPhone. But all of a sudden, a thought started to itch at her mind. It was her ace trainer friend's sudden change in feelings about Zapdos. She put her phone into her oversized labcoat pocket and asked Jack about the weird shift in his feelings. "Hey, Jack," she asked with concern in her high pitched voice. "You seem to care a whole lot for your Zapdos lately. I mean, I've never seen a trainer like you get so frantic about a Pokemon you got from a simple trade, especially when you looked emotionless when riding it before. How come you're like that all of a sudden?"

The sound of a blowing breeze woke Paiyu up and made her look around. Yep, it was that ever-so-familiar dream world again, in the oddly familiar town that she was unable to find in her memory. The great tower loomed in front of her, just like that Serperior in the Soras woods did before it struck, its dark doorway beckoning her to enter. Knowing what was in there last time, the trainer chose to stay away, and went to look around the town for anything that could get her to remember. But before she reached the nearest house, a surge of compulsion so strong that it might as well had been an invisible force made her turn back to the ominous tower. No! No! Not in there! the trainer tried to cry out and resist, but to no avail. She was now standing in the single square of light in the tower, a step away from the exit. So Paiyu turned to run, away from the darkness, away from the monster that awaited her. But bolting straight out was a huge mistake. A terrible roar pierced the silence as a huge weight crashed down upon the girl, causing her to wince in pain. She blacked out before she had a chance to see the beast's face.

"Wake up!" an absolutely hyped Eli chirped, "Time to go back to Soras!" "Yay! Gotta get ready first, though!" Paiyu replied as she got off the bed and went into the bathroom to change. She came back out after awhile with all her gear, ready for the long flight back. "So..." she asked her green friend, "how will we get back? Do we each ride our own flying Pokemon, or do we all ride on Lugia?"

Jack sat up in his bed in the room and saw two legendary birds right in front of him. "Moltres," he said, pointing at the yellow-red bird, "and Articuno. Why are you here?" Suddenly, the Moltres started to talk! "Jack," it said, "you have stolen our brother, Zapdos. You shall pay for your actions." "Z-z-zapdos wasn't o-o-originally mine! I-i-i traded my Haunter f-f-for it! I didn't steal it!" Jack said. The birds didn't believe him. But before they could reply, the image faded away as Eli woke him up, telling him to get ready to go to Soras. He reached into his pocket for his Zapdos, but he couldn't find its ball. "Where's my Zapdos?!" he asked, then realized he'd let it stretch its wings outside and left the ball there. "N-never mind!" he said.

((Alright, I'll catch you up to speed! Last time on Dragon Ball- Oops. I'm just kidding. Let's actually recap this thing:

Anyways, from where you left off, on your hiatus, Paiyu got attacked by a Serperior, and Eli was crying over the loss of her friend until Lugia revived her with a reverse recover, where it works on others instead of one's self. Paiyu eventually came back to life and the green girl was rejoiced. They went off to Paiyu's temporary vacation house (since she and her parents live in Alola) in Carina City, where Eli got to meet the young trainer's parents. Soon after, Eli slept for the first time in ages on her comfortable bean bag chair, but she didn't have any ordinary dream. She was instead visited by Mewtwo, who gave her the choice of whether she wanted to be a human again or stay as a Peridot permanately, with no force in the world that could reverse this action, and not even Arceus could break this either. In the "end," she chose to be a Peridot forever because of all the new exciting experiences she could have being something that she's not yet used to. Sure, some regret spilled into her mind after making such a huge mistake, but the green girl realized that she could stick with her friends until the end of time and they wouldn't have to worry about her dying before themselves. For a little while, her tiny legs felt somewhat heavy because her tall human's self soul wasn't used to being permanately stuck in a tiny Peridot body, but on the very next day, it wore off. Paiyu and Eli were worried about Roncho, so they decided to travel to Alima themselves by riding on Lugia. After a while, they got themselves ready and soared off to Alima on their pink and white legendary bird friend.

Once they got to Alima, they decided to celebrate their momentous achievement before moving forward, but suddenly, another one of Eli's Peridot instincts kicked in where if she got fully submerged in any sort of watery substance (like ocean or rain water), she'd give off an awful sulfuric stench that would smell like 50 rotten eggs in a dump truck. This made Paiyu pass out after giving her green friend a hug, but Eli believed for a second that she was dead from her stench and morned over the "loss" of her friend. A few moments later, Eli's Lugia came back and used it's wings to get rid of it's trainer's awful stench (since it would go away once the watery substance completely dries off) and "revives" Paiyu with it's reverse recover. She wasn't so much brought back to life, as it felt more like awakening from a nap. They laughed it off for a bit until they decided to rest at the Ranger Base in Vientown. The gang was about to rest up after getting their room key, but Eli decided to summon Mewtwo for Paiyu to see, since she gained an Oblivia Styler from the operator that checked the gang in. The young trainer finally had the chance to see Mewtwo, but she remembered suffering from a certain loss of a Pokemon. Eli wanted to know more about this, so she asked her about it before Paiyu began her tragic backstory. It was about a Quilava named Arashi who's Pokeball fell out from Paiyu while they were trying to escape from Team Rocket's arsony, and she wasn't able to get him back ever since. From this story, Eli teared up as well, but it was for a different reason that connected to the story, where she never wanted to choose to be a Peridot, but she did it so her friend didn't have to endure losing another friend. Mewtwo, on the other hand, had feelings of revenge for Team Rocket, so he went off into the portal to give them a piece of his mind. Eli wanted Mewtwo to stay for a bit longer to chat about second thoughts about her choice, but she was too late to stop him as the purple legendary went into a portal that disappeared before her very eyes. She then turned off the lights and crawled up onto the bed next to her friend, who was already sleeping. The green girl weeped for an entire night and moped about how she needed to be Paiyu's "guardian pal" because that young trainer was the only friend that didn't think of her as a green monster. Mimikyu was also up at the time, who made a costume that looked similar to it's trainer with supplies that were left from the dresser and tried to make it's trainer happy, even though she kept growling and hissing at it to leave her alone.

The next morning, Eli was still a mess, but Mimikyu wanted to show off it's costume. At first, Eli thought it was just a reminder of how unattractive she now is, but in reality, it was just to show that everyone loves her, including Mimikyu itself. She then gave Mimikyu a big old hug and told Paiyu to get ready for the journey to Alima HQ. But only one thing nagged at Paiyu's mind: Juniper, her shiny Dartrix, was missing! So the gang went off to look for the shiny owl Pokemon, but no luck had surfaced. They eventually just sat there and waited for their Pokemon to find Juniper while the two trainers told each-other stories about their second obtained buddies (Paiyu's was Juniper, Eli's was Mimikyu).

In a moment's notice, Paiyu's Alolan Raichu eventually found traces of Juniper's leaves, which immediately signaled to the young trainer that her owl Pokemon was nearby. Unfortunately, the shiny Dartrix and a few other Pokemon were caught in cages by a sinister yet familiar mastermind to Eli named Melvin. He was the one responsible for Eli's transformation into a Peridot, and she knew she had to stop him. The two trainers eventually thought up a plan to stop him, and as it was being executed, the green girl realized that the mastermind she feared was actually a joke, revealing his plans outright to her and behaving like a stereotypical high school bully. She wasn't afraid of him at first, but then her cowardly Peridot instincts made her give into fear and became weak and limp because of his now-intimidating height. Eli knew it was the end for her, but she gave off one last whistle to call her Pokemon before becoming completely numb yet also conscious at the same time. It was an epic duel between Paiyu and Melvin, but then out of nowhere, a familiar trainer trainer named Jack appears out of nowhere in a tree and uses his Zapdos to thundershock Melvin and his Noivern. The evil mastermind was about to escape weakly, but Eli miraculously gained the ability to speak again because of a dumb comment he made and called Lugia over to carry him to a nearby prison. And so, the war on Melvin was over, and Eli eventually regained functionality over her tiny body after the battle was won. She then reconnected with Jack and suggested to the gang that they should get going to the Alima HQ. They eventually reached their location and are currenly resting up there for the night so they can return to Soras with a bunch of energy in the morning.

...And now you know the lowdown of what's going on! Well, a pretty long description of what happened, but I tried giving you all the details I could remember. You can decide when you want to come in as Russo if you want. I can't wait to see you back in on the roleplay again! :D))

After a while of waiting, the two trainers who weren't lying on the king sized bed finally got themselves ready for a long night of sleep and turned the lights off. Eli was waiting patiently for her friends to lie in bed with her by looking at more memes on her rPhone. She felt more weight being added onto the bed, signifying they were about to go to sleep. She tossed herself towards her friends, who were sleeping on the left side of the bed, and squeaked sliently to them, "Goodnight, guys! I hope you guys are able to have pleasant dreams tonight. Jack, I'm so glad I got to meet you again after so many months; and Paiyu, I bet your parents will be so happy to see you once we get back." She then flipped herself to the right side of her bed, yawning cutely as she continued her goodnight message, "I'm going to try to put myself to sleep tonight. I'll see you guys in the morning." And so, Eli began her attempts to break her insomnia-based Peridot instincts. She let the warmth from the covers envelop her tiny body and closed her eyes. The green girl tried many methods, like letting her mind wonder off or counting sheep, but they didn't work at all. She even tried rubbing her eyes multiple times, but she just kept on behaving like an immortal insomniac. Eli knew she wasn't going to be able to get herself into REM sleep, so she gave off a silent groan of defeat and stared down at the fluffy mattress below her. All hope seemed lost, but all of a sudden, Mewtwo gave her a telepathic call. Greetings, Eli. The legendary Pokemon's telepathy rang through Eli's hidden ears. It's me again, Mewtwo. I sensed from afar that you're having trouble sleeping and you have a clear desire to get rest, so now that you're trapped inside a Peridot body for life, I shall grant you... The gift of sleep. But be warned. You should only sleep when you feel like it, because you will get extremely groggy when you wake up, unlike the refreshing feel you'll normally get as a regular human. Have fun. Suddenly, the warmth of the covers from above began to make Eli feel tired. She missed the feeling of sleep back from when she was still a human, but it was all coming back to her. Before kicking herself into REM sleep, she snuggled herself close to Paiyu to add extra warmth and smiled, knowing that she could finally rest like she used to do before.

Eli woke herself up in her first REM dream, but she found herself in a strange recreation of her old Trainer School. She had no idea if she was her tall human self or her short Peridot self, but her field of vision made it seem like she was human again. She felt naive and had no idea that she was dreaming, so she couldn't make a lucid dream out of it. In this strange dream school, it was height-checking day, and Eli felt confident knowing that she won't be made fun of with her tall stature. She stood in a line with all the other students, waiting for her moment to shine. When it was her turn, however, something strange happened. Her dream perception was quickly warped from her tall human height to her short Peridot height once she stepped foot on the large scale. It looked like the room props scaled up drastically, but in reality, she just shrunk. Even her classmates were bigger than her now. The person in charge of the height scale shouted out her height of 4'5" to the entire room, and in a millisecond, everyone began to jeer at her. Eli was sweating in fear from this drastic shift in perspective and weakly squeaked out, "No, guys! I-I can explain! I'm actually really tall, I swear!" Much to her dismay, the class kept laughing at her and she felt like she was going to cry, but then~

Eli woke up in the middle of the night from her first nightmare, feeling groggy yet also scared. Wew, she sighed in relief. It was all just a dream. She glanced over at the digital clock and found that it was 4:00 AM. She then turned herself to the two trainers, and even Mimikyu, who were sleeping peacefully next to her, probably dreaming of better things. After gazing at her friends for a few seconds, Eli revealed her tiny green hand from her oversized labcoat sleeve and stared at it for a little. You know, she thought to herself. I'm glad that I didn't get involved in that lab accident when I was young. If I did, man, my childhood would've sucked. If only I could still have the chance to become human again and stare at a better-looking hand than this. Just... Look at it. Look at that stupid hand of mine. That putrid yet limey green pigmentation of my skin that infects me to this day... It makes me sick. Stupid Melvin and his stupid UB:01 juice. I just want to strangle him for what he's done to me. But... At the same time, I want to thank him. If it wasn't for him, I would have never met Paiyu, Roncho, or any of my cool friends. Whatever. I'm feeling conflicted. I'm just going to look at memes for now. Eli eventually pulled out her rPhone and stared at a few memes until the sun rose once again. From this, she got off her phone and went to wake up her friends. She was sitting on the bed with her knees and pushed Paiyu, who was next to her, and attempted to push Jack as well, squeaking out with a bright attitude, "Wake up guys! Let's get ready to go back to Soras!"

"Ooh! That sounds awesome!" Paiyu exclaimed. She waited until both Jack and Eli had mounted the Electric Pokemon, and then hopped on to it herself. The static electricity from its feathers made her hair stand on end, but the trainer was not bothered by it at all, since this was a thing all Electric-types did, and it was beyond their control. The Pokemon itself wasn't very big, but she'd heard of grown men flying across entire regions on Pidgeys, so this should be fine. As the trio took off, the trainer took her time to admire the last moments of the sunset, noticing how the sun would seemingly rise as they flew higher up. Occasionally the flight would shake a little, and at first Paiyu couldn't figure out why; the Pokemon could fly through storms unfazed, so it couldn't be turbulence. Then she remembered from the Pokedex entry that the Legendary only weighed 53 kilos, and together the three trainers were much heavier than that. Poor Zapdos must have been struggling to fly them so far away. As she was sitting at the back, she couldn't scooch forward to comfort it, but she reminded herself to feed the Legendary an energy-restoring berry after they landed. She then wondered about the stories of the Pidgey riders, somewhat horrified about what could have happened to those Tiny Bird Pokemon.

At last they landed at the fabled Almia HQ, and all three jumped off the Zapdos. Paiyu retrieved a Leppa Berry from her pocket and held it out toward the Legendary Bird, who was huffing with exhaustion. The Pokemon skewered the fruit with its long beak and devoured it in a flash."Ya like it?" the trainer asked it, but Jack had already returned it to its ball. The three trainers then entered the great stone building resembling a fortress in front of them.

Just like the Vientown Ranger Base, the structure seemed a lot bigger inside than outside; the dome up above made this contrast seem huge. Many Rangers and their Pokemon were milling about, but there was one tall figure in the center of the lobby that seemed to stand out from everyone else. Eli seemed hyped as the man introduced himself as Professor Hastings. He's famous for being the inventor of the Capture Styler! Amazing! The green girl explained to the professor that the trainer trio came here to get help for someone back in Soras. Paiyu already knew who it was before her friend said his name: Roncho, the Ranger who had fallen into hypersleep. She choked back a tear when she thought of him, but thankfully Professor Hastings said that he would send someone to pick the Ranger up. Even better, there was a room for the trio to spend the night in. As they headed toward it, Paiyu thanked the professor for his efforts to help their friend.

The trainers entered the room and sat down on the huge bed. "It's been such a crazy day!" Paiyu sighed. Eli pointed out that since they've reached their destination, they could fly back to Soras tomorrow. "Yeah, I guess my parents are missing me quite a lot now..." her friend replied, then got up and went into the bathroom to get ready for the night. She emerged a few minutes later and flopped straight down onto the bed, waiting to drift off.

"Alright, then!" Eli replied to the two trainers as she got herself up off the ground. "Let's go-" But before she could finish her sentence and call for Crimson, Jack suggested that the gang should fly on his Zapdos. He even mentioned that it knew it's way around Alima because it's trainer was from this region. A starstruck feeling hit the green girl from the offer as she never rode on a legendary that wasn't her own. "Oh my stars," she squeaked from pure excitement. "Yes! That's even better than just riding on Crimson! Let's do that instead!" Once Jack got onto the somewhat large yellow bird, he signaled everybody to get on as well. With adrenaline pumping through her tiny body, Eli jumped right onto the majestic thunder bird and latched onto it's surprisingly fluffy tail. She climbed herself onto it's back, cuddling in all of it's thunderous feathers before it was clear for takeoff. Weirdly enough, this legendary bird wasn't as huge as she thought it was, because once Paiyu got herself onto it, the green girl had to shove herself over to the right side of the bird in order to make room for her friend. Now that everybody was on, Jack commanded his Zapdos to fly over to Alima HQ and it took off into the orange skies. From the back of the legendary bird, Eli looked around to find that Lugia had already found the perfect maximum security prison for Melvin as it is seen dropping him off. Nyeh heh, Eli giggled with delight. It looks like that clod finally got what he deserved! Serves him right for turning me into a Peridot! Even though it was flying smoothly, the legendary bird looked exhausted to carry more than it's weight can handle. The green girl felt bad for it, since she as well could never left any objects that were more than ten times her weight. "It's alright, Zapdos." She whispered to the legendary bird. "I know you're feeling exhausted from carrying more than three people on your back, but you're almost there. Just keep moving forward and you'll be alright." Eli's comment gave the yellow bird more confidence as it pushed itself forward to the Alima HQ.

At long last, Zapdos had finally reached Alima headquarters as it breathed heavily from exhaustion. The small scientist jumped herself off from the legendary bird and praised it for doing such a good job before Jack returned it to it's Pokeball. She then glanced up at the dome-like building of her dreams, thinking to herself, Oh, Alima HQ. Have I longed to get to this very location as a child, and now, I've finally done it. The green girl then signaled to her friends to follow her inside the building as she walked towards it in pride. The clear glass doors automatically opened for the gang to walk through. Inside the dome-like building awaited something similar to a Unovian Pokemon Center, but the walls were orange and a lot of ranger-based machinery was being tested. From there awaited another Professor who was way older and taller than Eli was. His name was Professor Hastings, and he was the one responsible for creating the capture styler. "Why hello there, young ones!" He greeted the newcomers. "Welcome to the Alima Headquarters!" He walked up to the gang, but before he could ask what brought them to the headquarters in the first place, he noticed Eli staring up at him with stars in her eyes. Oh my stars! Oh my stars! Oh my starrrs! She thought in excitement. I can't believe I'm actually going to chat with the inventor of the capture styler and my childhood hero, Professor Hastings! I'm so 'cited! Unfortunately, her hype died down as Hastings asked, "Who's this green pipsqueak?" Feelings of embarrassment swept over the green girl. She couldn't believe her childhood hero called her a pipsqueak. "Uh hello!" She blushed with a grumpy look on her face. "I am not a pipsqueak! My name is Professor Eli Wolftree, but you can call me Eli. I just happened to get involved in a lab accident that turned my skin green and made me sort of, uh... Well..." She looked down at the ground, feeling ashamed of the word that finished her sentence: "...Shrink." The green girl sighed, thinking about how tall she used to be before the accident, but then snapped back to reality to continue what she was about to say. "Anyways," she said while glancing up to her idol. "I've been a long time fan of your work ever since I was a child, and I feel so honored to be here in the first place. The reason why we came all this way was to let you know that a certain ranger needs to be picked up from Soras in need of recovery." "And who might that be?" Hastings replied with concern in his voice. Eli sighed in regret for who she was about to bring up, hoping this wouldn't dampen Paiyu's spirit. "It... It's Roncho." She replied maturely, yet with a tear flowing from her left eye. "He fell into a state of hypersleep, and I'm not sure if he's ever going to wake up from it. I just want you to send someone out to rescue him in the meantime so that once he wakes up, he'll be safe from harm." The capture styler inventor patted the small scientist's dorito hair and reassured her that someone would be on the lookout for him. She nodded in gratitude and then asked her hero if they could rest for the night. "Of course you and your friends can, little one!" Hastings replied with a chuckle. "In fact, I already have a room set up for you three to rest at! You are lucky enough to take the only room we offer to rangers who need it most!" Eli thanked her idol for all that he did for Roncho and her friends before heading off to the break room they were given. Hastings replied with a no problem as he hastily got himself ready for bed.

What awaited in the room was not as fancy as the Ranger Base. It was a generic room with a dresser, a king-sized bed for three, and a bean bag chair. The walls were painted orange and it had a homey-looking window with white gossamer curtains attached to it. There was even a convenient bathroom placed next to the room. "Well," She said in a relaxed tone to everyone as she climbed herself onto the king-sized bed. "This is it. I can't believe we made it all the way here, and it's all thanks to you guys. Now that we've done everything we could here in Alima, we might as well fly back to Soras tomorrow. You two should might as well get ready for bed for the big day tomorrow." As she was snuggling herself on the bed with the king-sized covers enveloping her tiny body, Mimikyu jumped right onto the bed with it's trainer, sleeping right next to her from the long day it has been through. She then waited for her friends to get ready for bed and turn of the lights for the next day to come.

"Wanna fly on my Zapdos?" Jack asked Eli and Paiyu. "He knows his whole way around Almia. The Trainer I got him from lived in Almia and took his Zapdos everywhere. He knows where to go."

((Arceus, I've been busy this week and my unfinished posts keep getting erased! Sorry yall))

Paiyu turned to face Melvin, looking him dead in the eye. "Maybe you should think twice before hurting my friends and those innocent Pokemon... you'll never get away with it." Remembering Eli's words, she called her Noivern and Ninetales forward, knowing full well that they would have the upper hand over Melvin's own Noivern. The poacher cowered at the sight of them, but this didn't cause the trainer to let down her guard. A terrible screech echoed through the forest as Melvin summoned his Sound Wave Pokemon, a more menacing version of regular Noivern with eyes that shone crimson instead of the standard gold. Paiyu's smaller Pokemon shrunk back with fear, but Yuki and Eedee'em were unfazed. "Use Boomburst, hit them all!" the villain yelled, but a cry of "Za-aaaap!" and another voice from up above interrupted him, telling their own Pokemon to use a Zap Cannon. Within a split second a great, crackling beam of electricity blasted the Flying-Dragon-type, leaving a smoking patch in the grass as it fell down paralyzed. Paiyu breathed a sigh of relief, as the attack's terrible accuracy could have caused her party to get fried instead.

An ash-covered Melvin got up from the grass and recalled his Pokemon. As he tried to limp away, he shouted at Paiyu and Eli that, one day, his scheme would definitely succeed, though the girls both knew that was never going to happen. Lugia descended upon the villain and swooped him high into the sky, soaring towards the nearest prison.

As she watched the bright shape of the Diving Pokemon get smaller and smaller as it flew away, Paiyu felt a tight squeeze around her, and looked down to see a jubilant Eli hugging her. "Woohoo! We could be heroes!" the trainer cheered, "We saved those Pokemon, and possibly the whole world too... but many will never know." Her tone changed to a more thoughtful one. "Who was the guy who used the Zap Cannon, though? We gotta thank them too..." she noticed that Eli was gone, and scanned the area to find her, and possibly their mystery hero. She looked up to see... a Zapdos perching in the treetops?! A scan from her Pokedex confirmed that she wasn't seeing things, and suddenly the girl realized something. This must have been the one that blasted the Noivern! But whose is it? Beneath the tree, Paiyu spotted her green friend talking to a boy whom she had never seen before, but somehow seemed familiar. The trainer walked closer and managed to pick up something about trading a Haunter for a Zapdos. His Zapdos. But who was he, anyway?

Being the polite person that she was, Paiyu didn't want to interrupt Eli to ask, so she had no choice but to listen on. The boy opened four Pokeballs, and released... holy Miltank! A Diancie, a Celebi, and a Volcanion?! A regular ol' Incineroar was the only thing that made this team not seem impossible. Her peridot friend seemed to be having a good time with the Mythicals, and the trainer could now talk to the mysterious boy. "H-hey! That's a neat team!" she began, and soon a conversation ensued. The guy mentioned that his name was Jack, and a torrent of memories rushed through Paiyu's mind. "Oh yes! I remember you... you had the Zygarde!" she told him all that he had missed. "What brings you to Almia, though? This was the last place we'd expect you to be in!"
((this part takes place long before the current one, sorry if logic has gone weird here))

They talked for long as twilight set in over the region. Suddenly Paiyu heard Eli's cute, squeaky voice asking them where they should go next: back to Vientown, or to Almia HQ. Jack voted to go to the HQ, which did sound like a good idea. "Yeah, let's go to the HQ! It's where we were meant to go in the first place, after all!" Paiyu replied, and waited for a response.

Out from the Pokeballs came a Diancie, Volcanion, Incineroar, and a Celebi. Besides Incineroar, Eli noticed something very strange about these legendaries: Most of them were shorter than her. The only one that looked massive compared to the green girl was Volcanion, but that's only by 19 inches. Plus, the hoop made it look somewhat big, so to Eli, this Pokemon felt like the perfect one to ride on for her size. Celebi was whimsically floating around in Vien Forest while Diancie was fascinated by the Peridot gemstone stuck on the small professor's head. It playfully poked at the small mineral as Eli stared at the diamond Pokemon in awe. "Wow, Jack," The green girl smiled adorably. "Your legendaries are so adorable! I'm jealous that you've got so many of them! The only one I've ever got was Lugia, and that's because it followed me around everywhere." While goofing off with Diancie, Eli noticed the Incineroar that stood next to the tree Jack was hanging in. It gave her memories of a particular trainer that owned the exact same Pokemon. Man, she thought to herself. I miss Martin. I wonder where he went off to lately? Maybe he went home, who knows.

Dusk hit the region of Alima as the sun was slowly setting in. Eventually, the green girl noticed that it was getting late and they had to get to Alima HQ or at least go back to the Ranger Base. What should I do? Eli thought indecisively. We're so close to Alima HQ, but there's another town we'd have to run through, and there's no place for guests to stay in there. We could fly all the way there, but Lugia's too busy dealing with Melvin. I mean, we could go back to the Ranger Base, but we haven't accomplished much today. Hmm... Jack's Diancie kept on playfully poking the little professor's green gemstone that was stuck to her forehead as she was thinking things through. After a while, it started to get on her nerves, so she told the legendary pink Carbink, "Alright, Diancie, I've had all the gem pokes I could take for now, so can you please stop poking my gemstone and go somewhere else?" The diamond Pokemon eventually stopped poking at the green girl's gemstone and flew to it's trainer. A few moments later, Eli got herself up and asked the two trainers what they wanted to do next. "Hey everybody," She squeaked to everyone with her high pitched voice. "It's getting kind of late, so I've decided to ask you guys where we should go next. Lugia's still busy dropping Melvin off at a prison, so do you two want to walk back to the ranger base in Vientown to rest up for the night or do you want to ride with me on Crimson the Silvally to sleep at Alima HQ?"

"Well, sure! I would love to see your new Pokemon!" Eli replied to Jack with a smile. She sat down on the grass waiting for Jack to bring out his new Pokemon, but before he could do that, Mimikyu purred at it's trainer about the reward it was promised. "Oh, that's right! I forgot!" Eli whispered to the walking costume Pokemon sitting on her shoulder. "Here's your reward for sitting on my shoulder for this long. After you're done eating it, go play with the others or something while I check out Jack's new team." Suddenly, she got out half a twinkie from one of her oversized labcoat pockets and handed it to her Pokemon, who took the tasty treat with it's shadowy hand and devoured it all up. After finishing up the icing-filled morsel, Mimikyu jumped off of Eli's shoulder and ran off to play with the others. Still sitting down on the ground, the green girl glanced up at Jack and squeaked out to him, "Sorry about that. I just needed to give my Mimikyu a reward for following our plan to take down Melvin. You can continue to show me your newest members, if you want!"

((Yeah, I looked at your Pokemon list already from the application board, but Eli doesn't know any of your members except for Zygarde 10%, since that's the only one she's seen outside it's Pokeball. The reason why she asked that is because she's not a Mary Sue character and needs to know things gradually just like any other well-developed character would. Just saying. :3))

Eli heard a loud grassy thud as she was forcefully dropped onto the ground. She felt the damp, cold dew from the grass below, yet it felt warm, like a blanket being placed below her back. This made her cowardly Peridot instincts kick in even more, making her feel lazier by the second. She knew her friend was in trouble and wanted to get up, but when she attempted to do so, she felt so weak that she couldn't get herself off the ground, almost like she was paralyzed. Come on, Eli! She tried talking to herself. Snap out of those dumb instincts! Just get up and help Paiyu! It should be easy! Unfortunately, no matter what she tried to say, it came out as a bunch of mumbling groans. She tried again, attempting to shout out, Hold on, Paiyu! I'm coming! It's just these dumb Peridot instincts are preventing me from even moving or speaking!, but it just came out as a loud groan. She stared down at the wet dirt below her, feeling helpless that she couldn't defeat her arch rival even further and started to cry. Oh what gives? I guess I'll just be a sad miserable Peridot for the rest of my life. If it wasn't for these dumb instincts, I would've been able to help my friend out, but no~! My body just had to induce yet another annoying instinct that makes me feel worthless. I can't believe Melvin turned me into a Peridot all because he wanted to sell his juice. None of this would've happened if I never even befriended Melvin in the first place! I guess I could try one last thing before I give up, but that's only if my body didn't feel so limp. I guess I could try... One... Last... Time... As a last attempt to help her friends, Eli decided to pull off one last whistle to call all of her Pokemon to attack Melvin. Little by little, she tried moving her tiny hand that was enveloped in an oversized labcoat sleeve. It felt like she was lifting a 100 ton ball using her right hand on the ground, but in reality, she was trying to break free from her instinct's paralyzation. A few minutes later, he finally got her hand ready for one last whistle, but before she could pull it off, she heard muffled voices of Paiyu and Melvin duking it out with their Pokemon, along with a familiar trainer's voice she hasn't heard in a while. She took one final whistle before her body became completely numb to where she looked like she was dead, but wasn't. Her mouth was open, producing green saliva as she lied there in defeat.

Meanwhile, Melvin noticed Paiyu summoning all her Pokemon at once to defeat him. "Oh, crap!" He said sarcastically. "It's looks like I've been defeated again!" Suddenly, he got out his one and only Pokemon, ready for battle and shouted, "Not! Noivern, come!" as he threw out the mysterious Pokeball in air, revealing his signature Noivern. It looked vastly different from Paiyu's Noivern, having the same red eyes as the wild Manectric he took over, and it had an electronic device near one of it's ears. "Noii!" It screeched, looking pumped for battle. But before he could command his Noivern to let out an obnoxiously loud sonic boom, a mysterious Zapdos came out of nowhere to thwart their evil plans. Not only that, but the whistle Eli made called all of her Pokemon, except for Mimikyu, who was attempting to earn it's twinkie by staying on it's trainer's shoulder. Eventually, the mysterious Zapdos was commanded by a familiar trainer's voice to use Zap Cannon on both Melvin and Noivern. After the painful blast, Melvin returned his Noivern to it's Pokeball and attempted to escape. He is seen struggling to keep himself up and walked limply, with ash all over his body. "This isn't the end of it, fools!" Melvin shouted as he tried to escape. "I will mass-produce my hypnotizing juice and I will take over the world with you as my slaves! Until then, I'm going to spend my time getting back to the Aether Foundation and focus on summoning UB-01 to help produce the juice I need!" Life miraculously came to Eli as her instincts slowly wore off. From such a dumb line, she finally gained the ability to speak again. On the other hand, she still couldn't get herself up, so she squeaked out the cosmic burn from where she was. "Actually, Melvin, you'll be spending your time in Alima's maximum security prison from what I could gather." The green girl took advantage of what her instincts gave back to her and called out, "Oh, Lugia~! Come and get 'em!" The pink legendary hovered over the ash-covered Melvin and picked him up with it's feet like a pterodactyl would to it's prey. It flew off to find any sort of maximum security prison in the region as it held onto Melvin tightly so that he wouldn't fall to his doom. "Curse you, Eli!" he shouted as he was carried away, never to be seen again as an iconic Team Rocket star was shown temporarily in the sky. Meanwhile, Eli snicked at the sight of Melvin getting taken away by her own Pokemon and cosmically insulted him back, "Oh, please. I was already cursed from the start due to your dumb juice." A few moments later, the rest of her cowardly Peridot instincts wore off and she was finally able to get up and function again. Immediately after getting up, she ran up Paiyu and gave her a great big hug, even though she was only tall enough to hug her waist. "We did it!" She optimistically squeaked out with glee. "We finally got rid of that cloddy nuisance altogether, and now we can be happy knowing he won't take over the world or torture us anytime soon. And don't worry, he won't ever be coming back anytime soon. He'll be sent to some type of Alima maximum security prison for the rest of his days for poaching Pokemon since that's highly illegal here." After talking to Paiyu for a bit, she notices a familiar face of a trainer she met in the Soras region, just hanging in a tree from Vien Forest. She remembered that his name was Jack, and at one point of her journey, he called her tiny and sent out a 10% Zygarde to battle her. "And would you look at that," she pointed at the familiar trainer and ran up to the tree he was in, glancing at him from above. "If it isn't my good old pal from the Soras region, Jack! My, I haven't seen you in a while! Thanks for helping us out, by the way! Also, you seem different ever since the last time I saw you. Have you gotten taller? Oh, wait. Everyone's taller than me. My bad. But still, something's different about you, though for some reason, I can't put my finger on it..." Then, she realized that Jack now owns a giant Zapdos, in which she never noticed was owned by him before. "Holy crap!" she said while pointing at the yellow thunder bird in shock. "How did you get your hands on a Zapdos!? Did it follow you home or something, because man, getting a legendary bird is hard to get, especially if there's only one in the entire Pokemon universe, including the shiny ones!"

From up on the top of a tree in the forest, Jack heard Paiyu whistle. Then lots of Pokemon came crashing out of the forest. Jack decided to let out his Zapdos and threw its Pokeball. "Go! Zapdos!" he whispered as the white light emerged from the Pokeball. When he saw Melvin take out one of his Pokemon, he whispered to Zapdos, "Use Zap Cannon!" Zapdos shot an enormous thunder bolt at the Pokemon and annihilated it.

As they watched the poacher, Paiyu noticed that her friend's features were twisted into a look of pure hatred. But it seemed like her animosity towards him was not formed just now; it was like their enmity went back a long, long way, before she had met Paiyu. Intrigued, the trainer leaned in and whispered to Eli, "You know this dude?" The green girl began explaining that this man, Melvin, was the one responsible for her transformation, getting her kicked out of the Aether Foundation in the process. In response to Paiyu's earlier question, Eli proposed that she would confront Melvin while Paiyu would free the captive Pokemon in the back of the truck, acting as backup in case of a dire situation. Finally, the peridot girl told the trainer that she loved her, and that she was the greatest friend she ever had. Paiyu resisted the urge to cry as she watched her friend set off.

An unmistakable roar reverberated across the sky as the great shadow of a Lugia soared over the clearing. The distraction had begun.

Paiyu hastily made her way to the pile of cages, careful to not get spotted, and inspected the first one she came across. Only bars and a single lock stood between her and the Pokemon inside, a young Squirtle that cowered at the sight of the unfamiliar human. "Shh... I'll get you out, little one." the girl comforted the Water-type. Before that, however, she had to find a way to open the cage; she had no keys on her, nor anything to pick the lock with. But this lock was made of steel... and she knew what could defeat steel.

The trainer whistled, sounding no different from a forest Pokemon to the untrained ear, and waited. Soon she saw Flaire the Quilava poke her head out of a nearby bush, waiting for an order. Paiyu pointed at the lock and said "Flamethrower," and moved her hand out of the way as the Volcano Pokemon crept over to the cage, flared up the fire on its head, and pointed it at the lock like a blowtorch. Within minutes, the lock had melted, and Paiyu told the Fire-type to stop as she threw open the cage door and lifted the Tiny Turtle Pokemon out, placing it in the bush, and watched as it crawled to its freedom. Before they could help more Pokemon escape, however, the trainer had to check if her friend was OK. Peeking around the corner of the truck, she nearly burst into laughter as she watched an utterly shocked Melvin getting roasted by Eli and spilling the beans about his megalomaniacal plans, with the green girl giving her a thumbs-up to show that the ruse was still holding. The trainer and her Quilava kept on melting locks until they had emptied most of the cages. Finally, they got Paiyu's faithful partner, Juniper, out as well, with the trainer being overjoyed.

But soon she realized that it was not time to rejoice, as she could hear Eli's clever comebacks fade away as she gave into fear. Paiyu turned around and gasped as she saw Melvin holding up her green friend by the collar. Though weak and limp, the peridot girl managed to shout something at the poacher, making him drop her and look around in confusion... and lock eyes with Paiyu.
Knowing that she would be in for a bad time without extra help, the girl whistled once again as the rest of her party bounded out of the forest behind her.

Eli came to a screeching halt once Paiyu stopped running. She was sweating perfusely from exhaustion, panting a few times before finally catching her breath, even though gems didn't have to breathe. What awaited her from beyond the bushes was a horrible travesty for a Pokemon Ranger to witness. Several Pokemon were caught in cages, attempting to free themselves, but none prevailed. Most of them were kept in a big white truck, and that's where Juniper lied. Hold on a second, Eli thought to herself in confusion. I thought Team Dim Sun was already defeated by a couple of young rangers years ago! Heck, the ones who're still around are in a minor team that was easily defeated after 2 months! Why are there still conflicts in Alima like this? But then, Eli took a closer look at the goon from afar. He looked strangely familiar, with his black wavy hair that looked similar to Sonic the Sandslash's spikes. He wore a vandren labcoat that was similar to Eli's, but it could actually fit him. He had a white cap with two yellow dots on it that looked similar to Nihlego's hat, and gave off a smug yet sinister sneer to anyone who approached him. Melvin! Eli growled silently in rage. That cloddy villain! What's he doing in Alima caging up poor innocent Pokemon like this!? Unfortunately, there was no time to ponder as Paiyu frantically commanded the green girl to "Get down!" They hid in a nearby bush as Melvin told the Manectric to use Thundershock on a certain Pokemon that kept making noises. Weirdly enough, this Manetric was mind controlled by something, because it's eyes were glowing a bright yet fearful red. Paiyu frantically told Eli that Melvin was poaching those poor innocent Pokemon and they had to do something about it. The small professor thought about if she should tell her about Melvin, and after a while of pondering, she maned up and told her about that mastermind. "Paiyu, I haven't told you about this guy yet, but that's Melvin. He's the one from the Aether Foundation that turned me into a Peridot by slipping my unfinished potion into my drink, and I've hated that clod ever since. I have no idea what he's doing in Alima, but we have to find out! It could be something involving the Ultra Beasts, but I don't know for certain if that's really the case." After explaining who Melvin is to Paiyu, she calmed herself and told her plan to Eli and if trainer battles were allowed in Alima. "Well," Eli explained. "Trainer battles are allowed in Alima, but only for emergency situations like this. Otherwise, they're kind of outlawed here. Now, I want you to rescue any sort of Pokemon kept in the trucks while I deal with Melvin and his hypnotized Manectric and Skarmory. The only real Pokemon he has is his Noivern, anyways, and I don't see it anywhere from where I'm standing. I'll go call my Lugia to intimidate him while my other Pokemon are on standby. Mimikyu, you stay firmly planted on my shoulder and pretend you're a stuffed animal unless he tries to use his Pokemon to attack me. And Paiyu... Help me out whenever I look like I'm in danger. If I ever poof or shatter in the process, I just want to say... I love you and you're the best-est friend I've ever got."

After explaining her plan to Paiyu, Eli ran off to a nearby tree that was closest to Melvin. Being small enough to not be visible behind any trees, she hid behind one and peeked out, looking for either Manectric or Skarmory. A few minutes later, she found Manectric, who was close by the tree she was hiding in. The green girl whistled out Lugia's song silently to find the pink legendary hovered above her. She pointed to Melvin silently, subtly commanding the pink and white bird of the seas to intimidate him, and off it flew. As Melvin was packing up the remaining Pokemon onto the truck, he noticed the strange legendary floating above him as it gave an intimidating growl. "Oh no! I'm so scared!" He sarcastically cried out. "It's a legendary Pokemon! What am I to do?" He gave off a maniacal laugh and told his Manectric to Thundershock the pink and white beast, but it was in the process of getting captured by the pink beyblade-shaped styler Eli had possessed. Having no idea on what a styler is, he angrily told his Pokemon. "Idiot! Snap out of it! Can you at least listen to me and Thundershock that shiny... thing!?" Meanwhile, Eli was still hiding behind the tree, pulling off a bunch of ranger moves while comforting Manectric from afar, "Come on, Manectric! I know a kind soul is hiding behind that hypnotized glare in your vision spheres, so please! Stop listening to that cloddy Melvin and be free-" All of a sudden, her de-hypnotizing process was stopped by Mevin shouting out, "Hey! Who the heck is spinning that weird top around my wild Manectric? If you're behind that tree, show yourself!" Crap! Eli thought in fear as she frantically hid behind the tree she claimed. I can't believe Melvin noticed me! Come on, Eli, think of something to trick him! Unfortunately to the tiny scientist's dismay, Melvin kept calling out at the tree, knowing someone was there to foil his plans. After a few minutes of haste filled pondering, she had no choice but to try and stall Melvin from behind the tree with her wordplay. "Hello there, Melvin!" She pretended to be wizard-like, even though her squeaky voice made it obvious on who she was. "It is I, the Great Tree of Wisdom! All you have to do is let those Pokemon free and I will give you infinite wisdom beyond all wisdomly wi-" "Give it up, Eli," Melvin interrupted. "I knew it was you the whole time." Eli jumped out from the tree, feeling ashamed while looking away from Melvin. "Oh, what gave it away?" She moaned from afar. "It was that pathetic squeaky voice of yours," Melvin rudely commented. "I could easily recognize it, no matter what impressions you could do. Seriously! Your obnoxious voice is more annoying than a Dedenne on helium!" Eli blushed in embarrassment from that rude remark, but still kept her face hidden from that menace. "Alright, alright!" she loudly squeaked while covering her mouth, feeling ashamed of her new Peridot voice. "I get it! I used to sound beautiful before the accident, and now I have this annoying squeaky Peridot voice! Shut up!"

Melvin gave off a villainous laugh and jeered at Eli, "I've finally found a new thing to tease you about! Now, shorty, show your face. I haven't seen it for all these years." Eli cowered in a ball away from him, feeling helpless. But then, she had a plan. "No," she sneered at him. "A stereotypical bully villain like you doesn't need to see my dumb ugly face! But... I will only show it on one condition! You will have to let those Pokemon free, and then you can see it." The cloddy mastermind gave off another hysterical yet evil laugh. "Are you kidding? I am not letting those Pokemon go! You see, they are needed to test out my new and improved Ultra Beast juice, meant to hypnotize people and Pokemon to hate one another and only follow me. Like I did with your potion, I'm going to disguise the UB:01 Juice as an ordinary glass of water that is supposed to boost your energy levels naturally, since it turns clear on liquid contact. Then, once everyone takes a sip, I will have my very own Pokemon Empire and rule the world!" While Melvin was maniacally laughing as usual, Eli thought back to when the her supposed "miracle potion" turned clear. She remembered it used to be a reddish clear color before Melvin made it crystal clear by intentionally placing a strange green liquid near the edge of her chemical shelf to spill it's continents into the potion that would ultimately in the end turn her into a Peridot for good. Holy crap! She thought to herself. It all makes sense! The clear potion! The fake friendship we had! The intentional power-outage! The Peridot transformation! The Type:Nulls being released to not interfere with Ultra Beast interactions! The jellyfish Ultra Beast, UB:01! Oh my stars! The reason he turned me into a Peridot was only because he wanted to sell his hypnotizing juice and he knew nice people like me wouldn't agree on it! I should've known from the start... Eli laughed from the stupid mistake Melvin made. She knew she could finally make a fool out of someone who she feared for years, and this was the moment for her to shine. "Wow," she joked. "For an intelligent manipulative villain, you sure do love to spill out your evil plans, don't you? For being such a dumb bad guy, I'm not going to show my face to you at all!" She gave out what appeared to be a joking thumbs up, but it was more of a signal to Paiyu that she's got this bad guy covered and the young trainer can continue freeing the Pokemon in the truck. Melvin became shocked. How could such a cowardly Peridot become a wise-cracking cosmic insulter in a matter of seconds? He knew he had to get serious with Eli, so he angrily shouted at her, "All right! I know you're stalling me, Eli! Show your gosh dang face before I come over there and toss you into that truck with the other losers!" From the presence of Paiyu, Eli knew she had the confidence she needed to stand up to this glorified villain once and for all. She whispered to Mimikyu, who was firmly planted onto her shoulder, to look out and see if Paiyu was done freeing the other Pokemon. It peeked out from behind it's costume to find that all of the Pokemon were finally free and gave it's trainer a thumbs up to know everything was clear. She quickly whispered to Mimikyu that it did a good job and that it'll get a twinkie if it stayed inplanted on her shoulder until the danger was done.

"All right, Melvin! Fine!" She squeaked out to the cloddy mastermind, hysterically laughing at his attempts to be evil. "I'll show my dumb face! Jeez, you're like an impatient baby who wants his bottle!" Eventually, she stood up and turned around to face Melvin. They were still a couple feet away from each other, but Eli still felt a bit intimidated from now being shorter than Melvin. In response, she started to sweat out of losing the height wars, but she wanted to stop because she knew this guy was a joke. Unfortunately, her cowardly Peridot instincts kicked in and made her feel weaker. What's worse, Melvin walked up in front of her tiny body just because he knew his height made her fear him. She tried snapping herself out from the instincts, but it didn't work. She felt like she couldn't move, almost like she was paralyzed from Melvin's intimidation. She tried wording out an insult, but it came out very Mareepishly. "Uh... H-hey, Melvin!" She stuttered in fear. "Y-you know, y-you're the most p-pathetic villain I've known, r-right? Y-you don't scare m-me! Nyeh heh..." Power returned to Melvin as he forcefully picked up Eli by her labcoat collar. "My, how the tables have turned! How can a pathetic little Peridot like you insult me so easily? Is it confidence given by your friends? Oh that's right! You have none! You're just a weak, tiny, pathetic and useless ugly shell of your former self who can't get any friends and is forced to live out in the woods for all eternity where nobody can love you!" Although these words didn't scare her anymore, the Peridot instincts she now has made her feel more weak and limp every time Melvin said an insulting word or phrase. "Oh y-yeah?" She weakly said, whimpering out more and more as she kept pulling through. "I-I-I've got some f-friends of m-my own! I-in f-fact, t-t-there's one of them b-behind me right n-now, r-ready to kick your butt!" At this point, Eli felt so limp from her instincts that she couldn't insult Melvin any further, but still had some energy to scream out, "Paiyu! Help me! I feel too weak to even call my Pokemon or stall this clod anymore with insults! Get your butt over here so you can beat him up!" before becoming weightless in Melvin's strong grasping hand. She was still conscious, sure, but she only had the strength to mumble out words, and if Melvin were to drop her, she'd just lie there and feel too lazy to even get up. Melvin turned around, feeling confused as to where her friend is. "Huh? What do you mean? Where's your 'friend?'" After looking around a little more, he found the young trainer and dropped the now-weakened Eli on the ground to prepare himself for yet another Pokemon battle.

The girls ran through the woods, following the barely visible golden-brown flash that was Caramella. Soon, they came to a stop outside a clearing, where the Raichu was hovering. There was a truck parked in the clearing, the back piled high with containers of some sort, some shaking and rattling, and a Skarmory standing on top, keeping watch. A Pokemon's cry emanated from somewhere - it was Juniper's - and Paiyu heard somebody get up from behind the truck. "Get down!" she whispered to Eli as she heard the man's command to his Pokemon: "Manectric, use Thundershock." A flash of light, and an ear-piercing screech resounded through the woods. She heard the strange man say, "That's what you get if you don't shut up," and then silence.

"Eli, this isn't good... this guy must be a poacher! We have to get Juniper out of here, quick!" Paiyu was frantic, but calmed her breathing. "OK, OK, we need a plan. This guy's got a Manectric, and that Skarmory there is probably his too. He might have something else, but they'd be no match for our parties combined. But the thing is... are battles allowed in the Ranger Regions?" she paused. "Or maybe... you know, your ranger initiation... should we put those skills to the test?"

After a few seconds of silence, Paiyu responded to Eli's rant, saying she had awful lingering thoughts as well. The young trainer became worried about Juniper, hoping the Owl Pokemon never got into any real danger like what Arashi did. Eli looked up to gaze into the woods, feeling concerned for Juniper as well. "Yeah," she sighed. "I hope she's not in a tough jam right now. At least she's got some Pokemon friends to help her out if that were to ever happen." The green girl eventually got bored of looking out for any of her Pokemon and decided to look at some memes about Dartrix on her rPhone. She got a few quiet guffaws out of them as Mimikyu slept under her tiny feet, hidden away beneath her oversized labcoat. After laughing through about 10 more memes about the swave-looking owl Pokemon, she turned off her rPhone and looked around the woods for any signs of her Pokemon. Unfortunately, the results were all the same. Nothing. Not even her pink Lugia's shadow hovered above them. Well, this sucks. Eli thought to herself with a grumpy expression on her face. It's been two hours and not even Lugia could find Juniper! I'm just hoping she won't end up like Arashi, because if that happens... The disappointed expression on her face quickly turned into a silent revenge-filled growl as she clenched her right fist that was cloaked beneath one of her oversized labcoat sleeves. She quickly calmed herself, not letting the revenge-filled yet cowardly Peridot instincts overtake her, and glanced at her friend, who was looking at Pokedex entries of the teal Owl Pokemon to find out what made it lost in the first place. Curious, she tilted her head a little to the side and squeaked with her high pitched voice to her friend, "Hey, Paiyu, I'm just wondering, how did you meet Juniper, anyways?" Paiyu placed her Pokedex on her lap and explained away on how the two had met each-other.

She told the small professor that she once lived in Malie City, which already gave traumatizing flashbacks to her about the Aether Foundation, since there was a cargo board and a few cruise ships that connected that city and the facility together. Oh shoot, Eli thought to herself in panic, sweating out of the painful memories she had been through. If Paiyu once lived in Malie City, I bet she saw me walking on the streets one time while trying to get shelter somewhere! I'm surprised she never smelled the horrible sulfur stench that reeked from me due to the fact I had to swim underwater just to get there, especially when I got kicked off a cruise ship just for looking like this! Frantically, she wiped the sweat off her face and continued to listen in on her friend's story. Thankfully, she didn't take a cruise boat to the Aether Foundation, but a regular boat to head towards Melemele Island. Once she got to Route 1, she almost got attacked by a Yungoos, but Juniper, who was no more than a shiny Rowlett, saved her from the bite of that Donald Trump-looking Pokemon. She mentioned that she was about to just get a Litten, but the shiny Rowlett was worth more to the young trainer, and who could blame her? Shinies were quite a rare thing to come by, especially if one's a starter. "Wow," Eli reacted with a fascinated tone in her voice. "You must be one lucky trainer to come across a shiny, let alone a shiny starter of all Pokemon!" She gave out a satisfied "Nyeh heh" laugh before she explained her story on how she found Mimikyu. "On the subject of meeting Pokemon, I remember finding Mimikyu like it was yesterday." She glanced at her Mimikyu friend, who is seen playfully 'sword fighting' a tree with a stick, and smiled at it before telling about it's origin. "You see, just like your pal, Juniper, Mimikyu wasn't my first Pokemon. It was actually Crimson the Silvally, who was only a Type:Null back then, that found me crying in the wintery snows of late December and convinced me to become a Pokemon Trainer. I mean, a Pokemon Trainer doesn't make a lot of cash compared to a former scientist like me, but now that I'm a Peridot, I had nothing better to do. It rode me all the way to Iki Town, pushing me to get into the village itself and get my first starter. I tried begging the head Kahuna to lend me a Litten or something for the journey, but all of them were already taken. I even pleaded for some type of Pikachu, but he said there were no 'Pikachu-like' alternatives and I was told to get out. I ran as fast as I could to Crimson, but I ended up tripping a few times, so I had no choice but to run on all fours like a gosh dang Poochyena. Once I ran up to that Type:Null, I thought it was hopeless for me to get any other Pokemon, but then, I found him, shivering under a boulder bridge. It was Mimikyu, who was also cast out from society for being too ugly, even with the well-designed Pikachu costume on. I immediately sympathized with the little guy, and we became best friends ever since."

After Eli's rant about Mimikyu was over, the walking Peridot costume jumped up onto her lap and purred at it's trainer. Paiyu became fascinated by the fact it chose to dress up like it's trainer and hinted that it loves her a whole lot to the point where it's proud of it. A mini tear of joy flowed from her left eye as she blushed at her Mimikyu. "Maybe you're right, Paiyu," she said with a whimpered yet joyful tone in her voice as she gave the Mimic Pokemon a big hug. "If Mimikyu loves me that much to make a costume out of my new compact appearance, maybe others will too!" Immediately after the two misfits gave each-other a hug, Caramella zipped right in to tell the others that she found Juniper, albeit with a few agitated squeaking noises. Eli became hyped as Mimikyu placed itself onto it's trainer's shoulder. "Oh my stars!" She squeaked with joy, but also concern for her whereabouts. "You finally found Juniper! Can you show us the way to her, please?" The surfing Raichu quickly zoomed through the woods to lead it's friends to Juniper as Paiyu signalled Eli to follow her from behind. She jumped off the rock to run after her, but flopped a few times before gaining her focus on running back. "Wait for me!" She cried out as she ran at full force. "I have little legs! It's not that easy to run around as a vertically challenged Peridot, you know!" While following from behind, she glanced at a tall sign that said 'Vien Forest' before flopping face first yet again. She kept running after Paiyu until she finally found the unknown location where Juniper was, which was not quite what she expected.

"I feel you, Eli. On the outside, I'm also a ray of sunshine, but deep down I have memories that I would like to forget, and move on. But I can't; they still resurface sometimes, and it's the worst. And now, with Juniper lost, it might be Arashi all over again." Paiyu told her friend as she scrolled her Pokedex for information on how or why her Dartrix could have disappeared. "I remember the day I met Juniper like it was yesterday. She was a Rowlet back then, but I encountered her in a most interesting way." With that, Paiyu began recounting the experience.

"This was about one and a half years ago, the summer when my family went to Alola. Like all teens the region, I was expected to go on a Pokemon Journey, something I was so excited about after seeing the beautiful places and Pokemon Alola was famed for. We lived in Malie City (it reminded us of our home in Johto), so I had to take a boat to Melemele Island to get my starter."
"Nothing really special happened on the boat ride, but the sea was so beautiful. There was also a shining white structure in the distance, though I didn't know what it was - forgive my rambling. Anyways, after landing at Hau'oli, I made my way to Route 1, to Iki Town, but there was this grass blocking my way... and it was rustling. Fear froze me like an Ice Beam when a Yungoos jumped out and bared its teeth at me. It was gonna bite my leg! But before I could shout for help, I saw these things that looked like blue leaves hit the Pokemon, and something fly past and attack it with a divebomb, sending the Yungoos running back into the bushes! Looking around, I saw no sign of what had driven it away. But when I did, I simply could not believe that my rescuer was the little, round, minty-green owl Pokemon sitting on a nearby fence-post, tilting its head curiously at me."
"Afterwards some people found me and the Pokemon having a staring contest of sorts. I didn't have a Pokedex yet, so I had to ask them what it was. They told me it was a shiny female Rowlet, the region's grass starter. To be honest, if all of these shenanigans didn't happen, I would have chose Litten as my partner. But what do you know, I decided to keep this little Rowlet out of gratitude. She was rare for her kind after all, and not to mention very cute. I named her Juniper, as her blue leaves reminded me of the berries of that tree, and we've been inseparable ever since."

She ended the story just as Mimikyu hopped onto her lap. "Ooh! Looks like Mimikyu has evolved into a Mini-you! I know of some cases where it dresses up as other popular Pokemon like Squirtle, Bulbasaur, or Charmander, but never have I seen one that makes a costume that resembles its trainer. It must love you very much, and is proud to show it."

Suddenly, an agitated squeaking sound filled the air, and Caramella zoomed out of the bushes, seemingly holding something in her paws. She flew in front of her trainer and scattered the things she had found: turquoise leaves. "I think she's found Juniper!" Paiyu exclaimed, "Where is she?" she asked the Mouse Pokemon. The Electric-type whizzed back into the woods, and Paiyu signaled Eli to follow.

"Yeah," Eli replied to her best friend. "I bet you they already did. My other Pokemon are already out searching for Juniper, and maybe they've already found her. Who knows! All we have to do is wait here and my Lugia could be able to find and lead us to Juniper." Before the small professor could sit down somewhere, Mimikyu nudged at her leg to show it was still there by her side. She glanced down at the walking Peridot costume and laughed. "Oh, excluding Mimikyu who's been following me around this whole time!" She remarked. Mimikyu responded to it's trainer with a bunch of cute "Kyu~!" noises before Eli walked to a nearby boulder to sit on. She climbed up onto it so that she could sit on there with her feet dangling from below. The only part of her feet that stuck out of her oversized labcoat, however, were the yellow part of her forest green 'socks.' She glanced at them, feeling embarrassed that her feet couldn't reach the grass below. She attempted to try and touch the damp ground with her toes hidden away beneath her socks, but to no avail. Eli sighed. She missed the feeling of when her feet could touch the ground. She remembered the wet dew that touched her feet every time she sat down on a rock. The cold hard grounds when sitting on a chair. It was all so familiar to her, but now all she could feel beneath her feet was air. Bland, textureless, boring air. Paiyu sat next to Eli, waiting for Juniper as well, but her feet could touch the grass below. From that alone, Eli felt jealous of such an act and a stream of tears flowed from her left eye. "You're lucky your gravity connectors could still feel the ground below," She said in a cold yet saddened manner to her friend, looking downward at her feet while doing so. "Mine could never feel a thing. Little things like that have always made me miss being my old self. I know I'm unable to become a human again, but it's hard not to have some feelings for what you once were. I just can't let them go at all, no matter how hard I try to get rid of the pain through my old joyful personality. At least I know people actually love me for who I am, and you made me realize that. I thank you for getting me this far, but I've still got some lingering old thoughts that will never go away."

"Alright. Let's check the inside first, and then we'll go outside to search." Paiyu told her friend as they went in opposite directions to search for the Dartrix. But after looking through every corner, anywhere in the building that could work as a hiding place for bird Pokemon, she found nothing. Welp, time to go outside then. Figuring she needed a little help to find Juniper, the trainer went back to the room to get her other Pokemon, gathering up outside. As if in understanding, they set out in different ways to look for their Pokemon friend. Paiyu climbed trees, checked the bushes (much to the surprise of some small Pokemon), looked up in the sky, calling for the Blade Quill Pokemon all the while, but found no trace of her beloved Dartrix. The leaves behind her began rustling, startling the girl for a split second, and she turned to see Eli emerge from the underbrush, labcoat caked with mud. She sighed and told Paiyu that her search was fruitless, even after looking through a swamp. "Nothing here either. I sent my Pokemon to find her, and they should be back by now. Maybe they could have found a lead."

While her friend was getting ready for the exciting trip to the Alima Headquarters (also known as the Ranger Union), Eli sat in the middle of the fancy bed and looked at memes on her rPhone to pass the time. She got a good giggle out of a few of them while Mimikyu sat next to her with it's sparkling new costume. After looking at a few memes to brighten her mood, the little green professor got out the same old vanilla spray she kept in one of her oversized labcoat pockets and sprayed it on herself, hoping that it would last the entire day. A few minutes later, Paiyu was finally ready to go to the Alima Headquarters, but before the young trainer could get going, Eli squeaked out an apology to her friend for what happened last night, "Wait, Paiyu! Before we head out, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for reminding you of such a horrible past and keeping you up all night with my crying. I just really cared for you and I wanted to help out with your problems, that's all." After forgiving her tiny green friend, Paiyu called all of her Pokemon to follow her, with Eli doing the same for her Mimikyu as she jumped off the bed, saying, "Come on Mimikyu! Let's go take your new costume out for a spin!"

The small scientist rushed to the door in excitement, but before she could open the door, the young trainer friend froze behind her and realized something: Juniper was missing. Paiyu frantically looked around the room before suggesting to go out and find her. "All right," Eli agreed in determination. "Let's go find Juniper before we head out! Maybe we can find her in near the care center for our bigger Pokemon, who knows. Nyeh heh!" Once the short scientist opened the door successfully, she pushed open the door and ran off as her friend closed in from behind. She ran through the hallways with some sweat on her face, looking around for Juniper as she zipped past the other rooms. "Juniper!" She squeaked out as loud as she could with her high pitched voice, hoping to find the shiny owl Pokemon as she did so. "Where are you, Juniper!?" Eventually, the gang ran past the operator's reception desk and out of the ranger base to search high and low for the shiny Dartrix. Eli tried looking anywhere she could fit her tiny body into to find her friend's owl Pokemon. From most trees to river tunnels, she tried every location that she wouldn't normally fit into as a human, but to no avail. Even the bushes that she could crawl herself into had no traces of Juniper or her feathers. After looking in many locations around Vientown and Nabiki Beach, Eli eventually just gave up and went off to search for her young trainer friend instead. She sprayed some vanilla spray around her to get rid of the stench that reeked from the sewer tunnels, and unlike her sulfur instinct, it went away quite quickly and was replaced with a fresh vanilla scent instead. Unfortunately, Eli still looked like a mess, with leaves and mud splotched all over her labcoat and triangle-shaped hair, sporting a grumpy embarrassed face as she made tiny footprints on the muddy ground. After a while, she found Paiyu, who was still looking for Juniper as well. The young trainer asked if she found her Dartrix yet. "Unfortunately," She replied to her friend "I've had no luck. I mean, look at me! I had to go through a gosh darn swamp to look for Juniper. A fluffing swamp! Heck, I even went into a few bushes as well, but I didn't see any of her leaves! Ugh. *sigh* Have you found any clues yet, Paiyu?"
