In the years before launch she was put through various tests to certify that she was capable of the momentous task for which she had been created. For 229 years after launch she maintained the ship, playing a part on the onboard politics, making sure regulations were followed, aiding crew members and other such tasks. However when her scans detected a radiation leak coming from the primary reactor she was forced to put everyone she could into stasis. For those unable to make it she disabled the life support, a nicer death than being slowly killed by the poisoning.
Now having been reactivated she has taken it upon herself to reawaken some of the crew in order to repair the damaged power systems.

However, one of the key goals of these reforms, the discovery of life beyond humans, was never succeeded. Only two space flights had ever been sent out, and one of them was sent for a different purpose.
Some years after the Alktech launched, flaws were discovered in the 3D model of its architecture, including potential reactor issues and vulnerabilities in the AI (although these cannot be exploited unless made in contact with those who know the functionality of AI systems). It is unknown if these flaws reared their heads. The Alktech’s mission was considered a long-term project, and no response was expected for a few hundred years. The project was shoved, eventually, into files in favor of newer projects. Concern of the vulnerabilities faded, as well as knowledge of its existence down to archive keepers and certain interested space mission personnel.
Recently, however (considering this was roughly 100 years prior to current date), space pods containing lost crew of the Alktech returned to outer colonies of human space. Worst fears were confirmed: the ship experienced an issue that endangered the mission and resulted in the ship shutting down. The project was quickly “rediscovered” and put under close consideration.
Three missions in total were sent out in the form of small ships equipped with detection equipment to find the Alktech; however, each time they came back unsuccessfully. A fourth and final mission was sent out Just under 50 years ago to cover a much farther distance, assuming the Alktech did, in fact, go that far.
Confidence is not high for discovering the ship. However, if it is discovered, search crews have been equipped with manuals for the ship’s construction and a set of “legacy” tools. Each ship has the following things to inform the Alktech: Return home for further briefing. Keep crews in rotational stasis to conserve lifetimes. Finally, brief themselves with the basics of human life as it is “today” (40+ years ago).

Corporal Damon Halthar is a senior pilot and soldier in the Colonial military. Before joining the Colonial Marine forces, he was a miner at a colony from a rocky moon of Saturn. His entry in the Colonial Defence Force, as it was so called, was a result of him not liking the way his life was going at 24 years old. To put it simple, he was bored as heck and sought a way out. His family supported the decision, although was understandably disappointed that he left.
He joined a division for outer colony protection, and worked for ten years providing security for colonists exploring new possibly habitable worlds and recently terraformed worlds. His experience and capabilities were the reason why he was recruited to join the search force of the long lost “Alktech”. He was deployed in a single fighter ship, along with several others, to locate the “Alktech” in the fourth search wave.
Unfortunately, his ship, which had the most recent upgrades for long distance travel, was hit by a radioactive pocket (unknown origin) that damaged various systems on his ship. The result is that although the ship was close to its destination (and would end up coming to the Alktech itself), it required repairs beyond his ability to make the ship able to go back home.
His last action (before my intended start of RP) was to punch in an access code to verify ship systems and see the damages sustained.
Special skills:
Halthar is a very skilled soldier and pilot, and is good around ships. He has very good reflexes. In melee he is strong, although lots of that simply comes from human development, like his fairly sharp mind. He isn’t very good at new things and is a hard person to be friends with, since he doesn’t hold people in trust easily.
Personality:
Corporal Halthar is a more gruff, serious type without a particularly evident sense of humor. He has a very high degree of loyalty to his people and comrades in arms. He’s not good socially, but is capable of making friends if he is in the mood. He can fix some things, but isn’t good with “legacy” equipment at all, as it is fundamentally different after having had reforms.

The ship is a special design for long distance exploration missions. It is custom fitted with detection and communication technologies, along with a stock set of weaponry and “stasis mode” for travelling. It has a fusion engine designed to conserve power, and has a “low consumption” mode - which powers the ship on a fraction of the power needed for a (real life) USB mouse, although naturally the more powerful features are not available in this mode. It has the looks of a fighter jet. It also has compartments for growing food and tools, both legacy and basic ones for the ship. The ship has room for 3 people (two seats in back and pilot).
In his ship is a simple AI system that is not particularly interactive when it comes to humans, but can communicate with other forms of Ai in its own way (it uses text based communication to humans). It stores the things needed to make the ship work and an extensive database containing the mission, a cultural archive of both 500 years ago and “modern” times, AI updates, and an instruction manual for repairing things (put on for the benefit of the Alktech if discovered, although it would take someone familiar with the technology to apply it).
Weaponry includes a pair of dual lasers and a total of 14 piercing and 6 explosive missiles (10 missiles split evenly on each side)
Communication systems include one long range transmitter (not functional at time of RP), a shorter range standard transmitter, and a “legacy” transmitter.
Additional features include “stasis mode” during flight until required and a drive designed to cruise at and faster than the speed of light, although it works in bursts (and also not functional at time of RP).

The pilot has a casual wear suit (aka, a set of clothes) and a multi-purpose full body armor suit (the type soldiers in the CDF wear, but without most of the weaponry).

Special skills: Has the IQ of almost a genius, trained to be a geneticist, but also has some combat as well as tech skills, but neither of those two are very pronounced.
Personality: Isn't one to work in groups but can work together if needed. Babbles away if confused. Is very friendly and makes friends easily.

Appearance:Tall man with an impressive build. His hands are rough from manual labor working multiple jobs to make ends meet for himself. Black hair and a beard mimicking Jet's beard from Cowboy Bebop. Rough skin. Calloused
Backstory: Raised by his father in the city, he got involved in crime early life. He never was caught or arrested, due to his special skill he developed after stealing a mysterious vial of liquid and drinking it thinking he would get a mean buzz or something (he was kinda dumb early life.) It gave him the ability to see possible near futures. He eventually enlisted to the Mecha fortune squad (they saw potential in him and hired him as an intern of sorts.) He learned from his squad mates how to operate a personal exosuit system, which uses a neural link to better bond with its driver. From there things were an all time high for Vincent. That all changed when the government shut down and jailed his squad-mates, he alone escaped and received a job on the colonization spaceship Alktech. When the power went out and he was put into stasis, he didn't properly disconnect from the exosuit, and it ravaged his memory. He awoke with fragments of memory with his head.

It gave him the ability to see possible near futures. He eventually enlisted to the Mecha fortune squad (they saw potential in him and hired him as an intern of sorts.) He learned from his squad mates how to operate a personal exosuit system, which uses a neural link to better bond with its driver. From there things were an all time high for Vincent. That all changed when the government shut down and jailed his squad-mates, he alone escaped and received a job on the colonization spaceship Alktech. When the power went out and he was put into stasis, he didn't properly disconnect from the exosuit, and it ravaged his memory. He awoke with fragments of memory with his head.

She's relatively tall and thin, and would be considered attractive by most, but on the very top of her forehead Genesis has a long scar that also reaches down her cheek. To make this look better, she usually wears her bangs down. She also dresses in white more often than not, but why is that important?
Backstory: Nobody knows. No, for serious. Genesis knows nothing of her background and neither does anyone else, other than that she came from a small country deep in poverty and barely survived before being taken in by a previous commander (or high executive officer, et cetera) of the ship and being stationed there after lots of training.
Special skills: Genesis is extremely ingenuitive and although she's moderately book-smart, her real mental strength lies in how fast she can assess a problem. Her physical attributes are great, too; Genesis has extremely keen eyesight and has also gotten surgery to increase it. She's also not especially agile by nature but with excessive training since her "adoptive" parent took her in, Genesis has become much better, with agility far better than a professional gymnast.
Personality: "Genesis" is a title that she gave herself, fitting to her as Genesis is obviously the birth and rebirth of an era. Despite her above-average agility and ingenuity, Genesis is extremely arrogant (unless she's in battle, which I'll get to later), border-line narcissistic. However, in battle she's a completely different person. Once faced with that kind of scenario, Genesis becomes ruthless and distrustful, caring about nothing except for her objective.
