i don't know if this happened to to anyone else, but i have tested this out on two different devices.

DO NOT USE THE newly implemented "EDIT SKIN IN PMCSKIN3D" because the dark parts of your skins will somehow become about 10% more saturated, and about 1-4% darker, which is really bad if you use dark colors in your skins because it will make it look very different.

i really hope this is fixed and others have noticed too

please warn other skinners about using the new button

The issue here has to do with color spaces in the PNG files. It's an unfortunate result of browsers wanting to adjust color spaces of images. I have an experimental fix implemented in Chrome but Firefox and others haven't implemented the standard yet.

Any image you upload to PMCSkin3D has this issue, this isn't just because of the new button.

Also, please use Tickets to properly submit bugs. The forums aren't a good spot for this.

Can you send over the PNGs you used for testing btw? Preferably the "before" versions. I want to see if I can strip the gamma chunks from the PNG and if that is enough to fix it.

the head is pure black, the body is slightly but noticeably lighter if you put it in 3d

On my end, the brown is 25,13,5 in both the file & on PMCSkin3D. The skin PNG has no gamma or color space chunks. Did imgur strip them when you uploaded them or something?

Checked on both Chrome (which has a color space fix) and Firefox (which doesn't).

on my end, it's still 24, 80, 10 on hsv color scale. but if you upload the skin, then edit the skin using the new 'edit in pmcskin3d' button the editor will show the brown as 14, 94, 8 on hsv color scale, like this:
