i just spent hours prefecting my skin and when i went to apply to my java minecraft luncher it gave me a error saying it must be 64x64 or 64x32 png file i went to photo to make it 64x64 and it deleted half of my skin please help

What do you mean by "it deleted half of my skin"? [File size (e.g. Kb) halved, or file dimensions halved/quartered]
Is "photo" Adobe Photoshop? or something else?

What was the original resolution? Please keep in mind, that downscaling may come at a cost of sacrificing some finer details.
