Without mods java skins are 64x64 (br can also use 128x128).
There is also a file size limit (which I don't recall [20Kb???], but trying to upload a correctly dimensioned png with too large a file size will give a message to that effect.)

Bedrock Edition only supports skins in either 64x64 and 128x128 formats (pixel dimensions of the skin file). Java Edition only supports 64x64 pixel skins. Most skins on this site use 64x64.

Unfortunately, you can't use this skin as it is right now: The smaller pixels on your skin are too small, so this skin file doesn't fit the 128x128 and 64x64 restrictions.

If you are using Bedrock Edition and want to use smaller pixels, know that 4 pixels in a 128x128 format make up the size of 1 pixel in a 64x64 format.
