i've been thinking about this for a while, especially when i try to decide what artstyle i will stay with, for a while i use really bright vibrant colours, but then i thought of using more desatured, softer colours (atleast i think so). but i honestly wanna experiment and try other styles too

i wanna know if anyone else likes a specific artstyle or aesthetic, would like to discuss about them too :3

I don't think I really have a specific one I think looks better than the rest, but I've got to say that (in my opinion) the best way to make skins is to try every different type of things you can.

whether it is doing something with both very saturated and very greyish colours at the same time, or shading based mostly on dithering, or gradient based shading, heavy hue shifting, anything that forces you to get out of your comfort zone, or something you've already done many times, will probably look good if you try hard enough in my opinion!

i tend to experiment on alot of stuff but sometimes i'm scared about not being consistent and all lmao. i actually went through the "shaded hair on all sides" phase and changed to a very plain style (almost like barebones?) and then i went back with some details. i'm considering trying new styles but i mostlikely won't post them just for practice.

I don't really like skins that look like there is an imaginary light source that casts a very bright light from a specific side on them. So I don't do anything like that, that's all I can say.

ooo yea, i always thought they only look good for looks, maybe with specific shaders or texture packs but when you're just playing vanilla, it looks sorta weird
