Hello, I would like to tell you the difference between 1.8+ model skins and the universal skins.
The difference between the two is plan and simple the 1.8 model skin can be affected with the skin customization tab in the opinions tab on the pause menu under hats. the universal skins do not and it won't look 3d as the previewer shows.

Actually, 1.8+ and Universal are very different other than this.
The skin customization tab was added in 1.8 to help with some of the changes.
1.8+ Skins can be in Alex format, have overlay on every part of the body, and can have non-mirrored arms and legs.
However, the Universal skins are Steve ONLY, can only have a hat overlay, and the arms are mirrored.
