How To Get Snapshot Textures?

so i have ideas for 1.17 texure packs, but how do i get the textures themselves? people say to extract the jar but i cant find one

MCPacker Java has support for 1.17 snapshot, or I can give you a direct link

You need to open snapshot one time ;)
Then in %appdata%/.minecraft/versions you will have snapshot folder with jar.
And you need to unzip somewhere this jar

ok wait, theres a bunch of .class files, can i delete those? and if so is there a way that wont take hours of scrolling?

You need only assets folder, so you can delete all .class and other files

ok, but deleting the .classes looked like it would take up.. a lot of memory (and time) once in my recycling bin, is there a way to just get the assets folder from the jar?

um, you could just open the original jar as archive with 7-zip and copy only the assets folder into your resourcepack

It's probably better to just wait for 1.17 to come out so then you'll have every single texture instead of having to wait snapshot to snapshot.

eh, but i want to make them now, and i dont know how to get the textures still anyways so just waiting wouldnt help
