How to make bushy leaves?

I'm a complete beginner trying to make a 1.14.4 resource pack but I'm stuck on the leaves. I've seen leaves that are sort of 3d in packs like Cubed, Feudalist and Cocricot (for 1.12.2) but I just cannot make heads or tails of the .json files and how they were created - though it seems some were made in Blockbench, a program I'm not familiar with.

Any help would be much appreciated! I've spent days trying to work this out on my own >-<

Blockbench is one of the best Minecraft modelers right after Cubic Studio

Start with something small and get familliar with the program.

Minecraft Wiki article about models will be also usefull: minecraft.gamepedia.com/Model

Hope I helped you in any way ^^

Thank you so much! Blockbench looks amazingly useful and I'm excited to get using it!

That was my first port of call but I couldn't find anything... might just be that I wasn't searching for quite the right thing!
