I would like to include some textures in my resource pack for mods I like to use without modifying the mod's jar. Where would I put the texture files in my pack to get them to work?

I use MCPatcher but not Optifine - will I need to put mod textures there in a folder labeled for each mod?

Oh okay, thanks! I've been trying to figure this one out on my own for awhile now. I appreciate it!

First you have to open the mod in 7zip or winrar. Then you open the assest folder of the mod and whatever is in there should go into the assets folder of your pack, and then you can just edit them. That works for 1.6 and 1.7 and will probably work with 1.8 too.
