----> Should MENDING Be Removed From Villager Trading? <----
Hey y'all! Here's a little highlight video I put together from a recent stream I did of me talking about my views of mending being a villager trade! If you have any opinions of your own then I'd be glad to hear them!

I don't even use it so I don't really care.
HE-HELL NAH
No; fix trading. Revert back to 1.13 villager trading mechanics
Did a quick reading up on 1.13 villager trades to remind myself what it was before replying haha.
I think that would be a step in the right direction but I think it would end up just adding more villager grinding in regards to getting a mending enchant. Since trades are fixed from the get go with a villager all one would need to do is breed villagers until they get a librarian with a mending trade (assuming that's how it works based off of the wiki) and then it would end up being the same problem I talk about in my video except a bit more grinding.

in pre 1.14,
the first issue was getting librarians (only 1/12 ~8.33%) of baby villagers were librarians.
Also, it was not possible to tell a librarian from a cartographer (generally not wanted) until the villger becam an adult.
While the first trade was an enchanted book, one had to run through a fair amount of trading to get to teh second and third book trades (which was vastly slower than teh break/replace lecturn mechanic)
There was also the issue of a specific trade locking and remaining locked until the villager reset which could only occur after further trading. This led to a great deal more 'useless' trading [I never crafted clocks largely because of this feature.]
It also had social implications as leaving a villger with its 'good' trades locked was considered very rude.
It was also remotely possible to completely and permanently lock a villager (i.e. all trades X-ed out and unavailable making it impossible to reset the villager).
[I've had this happen only once (to a butcher), but the possibility lent at least the illusion of rick to the process. ]
Additionally, removing Mending from villager trades will simply push players to treasure fishing. [The ill advised monkeying with treasure fishing cut the expected 'take' of enchanted books by roughly a factor of ten — to which the frequent response was a ten-fold increase in AFK time.]
Even without AFK/auto fishing, treasure fishing would remain a ready source for mending (just more tedious).
Yet another consideration is how long Mending hsa been easily available and the large number of players whose playstyle has evolved in response to that.
Were Mending to be sharply limited, the effects would extend to changing how mining etc were done and the game would become considerably more tedious for those gathering large qualtities of resources (due to the need to replace equipment that has maxed out the ability to be repaired).

Yeah, 1.13 wasn't perfect. I'm just saying thats generally a better starting point
